get a "GOOD" balancing charger, a 7.4v battery and a LIPO SACK. If you worried about your house, charge it on the driveway........

+1 on the charger!!!!

If you want idea's on chargers, just search and/or ask.

Im going to the Gearbox to pick up my gun and the battery soon. So yeah if you have any idea that would be really helpful.

I think it would be ok nick, you dont seem to lay down on the trigger. You bought the gun from someone on here I suspect, if it came with a lipo, obviously he was using it with the gun..... send me a pm if you need any help

Yeah Im not really the type who blows through magazines. I like to pick my shots.
And yeah the Lipo comes with the gun but even he doesnt use it.

Yeah but how the hell does a battery ever get penetrated like that?

Well it takes a hammer and a nail.

I am going to tell you this, stay away from lipo and just run your little 8.4 volt batts in your Big5 gun.  It is obviously way to complicated for you.

But, if a person has an average intelligence only slightly greater than an orangutan then you will be fine and you wont blow yourself/house/pets/or gun up.

the only thing that does not run a lipo is my mp7 and that is only because I just got it.

Its too complicated for me I was just wondering whether or not they were that dangerous to use.
If it really only takes of person with "average itelligence" then why doesnt about 70% of airsofters not use these things?

And to the other guy: Yeah yet another reason Im a little scared to use this battery for. The almost unnecessary ROF tears up the insides of the gun after a while.  But I have a G&P CQBR. Do you think the internals in there are strong enough?

Sounds like sensationalist reporting at its worst!

Seriously look at the guys who play here, can you pick out how many of us are using Li-Pos? I'll tell you this much, those who do did not need to invest in nomex flightsuits.

True. But they are much more experienced then I am (Im only 15) and ive never even seen a Lipo in person let alone used one.

But it does seem like any body with a little responsibilty can use one safely. So im still debating on whether or not these things will kill me or my house if I were to buy one.

I don't know, but I'd rather not have a potential road flare in my gun.  Just for peace of mind.  You can do what you want, I don't see how it could be damaged like that either.

Yeah I think Ill stick to the 9.6s untill I buy a fireproof suit. Or Ill just play airsoft at the nearby waterparks. That would probably greatly reduce any fire danger.

General Airsoft Discussion / Are Lipoly batteries really that dangerous?
« on: January 06, 2009, 08:45:04 PM »
Ive been reading up on these recently and have seen some pretty bad horror stories of peoples batteries lighting on fire or ruining the inside of their gun!
Are using these things actually that dangerous or are these encounters with Lipoly batteries not that common?

if your a "sniper" and looking for a backup, i would say go with something really small and light.  If your a "sniper" you will want to be concealed and not so bulky.  So like an MP5 K i would imagine, would be great. a drum is big and bulky and will slow you down, plus if its a side arm, you should only be using it very rarely.

Listen to this guy. Buying an G36c for a backup in a sniper loadout will be a big mistake. Especially with the drum mag.
Stick with an MP5K. I know a guy who has one and it shoots great.
