General Airsoft Discussion / Re: Evike.com
« on: April 17, 2009, 09:21:08 AM »
Yea.. Evike is more or less you get it fast or get it really late. I ordered from them twice, the first time i ordered i got my order in 3 days. The second time i ordered took about 2 - 3 weeks for my items to finally arrive. Their service is so-so, they got something back ordered on my second order and they call me first before i thought of calling them, also they told me the other items are out of stock too. The main thing i see Evike needs to improve is Customer Service and having their website update everyday so that people like us would not order something that is out of stock... If i really have to give them a rating: 1 being Bad and 5 being excellent, I would have to say it is a 3.2, in my opinion they are ok but not the best or the very worst. They just need to improve in some areas and they would probably be better.

If you are buying the same brand (Dboys) i would say get the full metal one for 15 bucks more it is worth it comparing to buying a metal body separately. The gun preform pretty well and it is average FPS on it can pierce both sides of a can but cannot go through the bottom so i say the FPS on it is around 350-ish? I don't know how a poor mans chrono go but that is when i first got the gun. The ROF is decent too the only thing i can think of is getting a new battery for it since the one i got fried, but probably it was because i overcharged it. Overall it is an ok gun for a beginner.

So true, i actually went today for some info on maintaining an AEG and buying parts to rewire my Dboys M4 S System.  I am still kind of new to airsoft since i have been busy with school and stuff in the family, so i never got much time in airsoft games and researching on the AEG's and their gearboxes.

Ron if you are reading this thanks for all your help, i really appreciate it.  [smilie=armata_pdt_01.gif]

I have opened the gearbox before, well me and my friend and took it down part from part. After that i just became afraid of opening it again cause i hate doing trial and error when it comes to calibrating the motor (I don't want to break the pin head) or inserting and shimming the gears (Afraid of making the gears too low or high). So i have very little experience in a Version 2 gearbox but i kinda know the general layout of it.

@ Robby: You kinda made a good point though, I know gearbox is good but i know my friend paid them to fix up his G3 and something bad happened during one of our game meet ups and it did not work at all. I probably would try to rewire the gun.

I have ultimately decided to keep the same way my wiring goes (battery goes to the front). So I just want to know is there anything special to know if i decided to try and rewire it myself?

I am keeping my battery since i bought it, it is a small nun chuck type 9.6 1500mAH Intellect. I am considering to change the stock to have room for the battery but i prefer the collapsible stocks then the full stocks since i have short arms adjustable stocks really helps me a lot.

The new RIS is for me when i change my plastic body to metal, since my friend is offering to help me with that part. He said that if he is going to change the body of the M4 i need a new RIS system. I can take the the rail bars off so it is no big problem if it is just a hand guard with rail slots... but i still cannot decide on what is good and also a decent price since i am on a budget of less than 100 bucks.

AEG's / Rewiring Dboys M4 S-System

Hi all I just want to ask if it is simple to rewire a Dboys M4 S-System. I talked to Ron in Gearbox and it would cost about 50 plus 20 bucks (I think) to do the whole rewiring to the stock. I am still thinking if i want to keep the battery in the front (origional) or make it to the back, and i want some opinions on this too. I hate the S-System since the piece in the front does not keep in place so i am also considering changing the RIS to something else. Can anyone give me any pointers? This has been in my mind for days now and i really want to fix my gun ASAP. Thanks for reading this too.

AEG's / Re: Dboys (RK02) or CYMA CM036 ???
« on: January 18, 2009, 04:46:46 PM »
Well the M4 only has a broken body cause it was the NON-full metal version... i should of bought the full metal for it to last longer. Other then the body, bushings, and shims the rest is metal... which i think it is not bad for a plastic version. I had a Dboys M16 SPR rifle which is full metal and it was great, i had to sell it cause im a small person and i could not hold the gun that well since it  was kinda long (short arms  :(  ).

AEG's / Dboys (RK02) or CYMA CM036 ???
« on: January 17, 2009, 04:23:15 PM »
I need a new prime since my M4's body is broken... I was thinking of getting a second rifle anyway. I was reading online and people said that the RK02 is good but most prefer the CYMA CM036 or higher number of the CM series. I really don't know what to pick so i want to ask all of you on your opinions about both of them. I have bought Dboys so far and their guns are pretty good if you know what to pick, like my M4, so i am pretty fond of Dboys products.

Okay, tomorrow i will get my MP7 since i ordered it on Friday night. Any tips on maintenance? Also i just read on AirsoftRetreat where some person made a review of it and mentioned that it is highly recommended to clean the hop up. If so does that mean i have to open the gun?

@ SARC: I don't want the gun but i want 1 50 cap mag and 2 of the high caps...
