yes I know that, what I'm trying to find out is it ok if my sniper is at 500 fps with a .3g as that is the round I'll be using and not a .2g, because a .2g would put the FPS over the limit.

:shock: are you trying to say that a 500 FPS rifle will shoot both .2 grain and a .3 grain at the same FPS? Because there's just no way.

I have a question that I've been wondering about. It has been posted on this site that the FPS limit for sniper rifles is 500. However what I'd like to know is, is the FPS limit 500 with .2 grain or .3 grain round? As many sniper rifles have an FPS over 500 but when you use a .3 grain round the FPS drops to 500 due to the weight differential. Is this sat or does the rifle have to have a 500 FPS limit while using a .2 grain round? Please let me know as this will determine which sniper rifle I purchase as to ensure I can put it to use in all competitions I attend.

Sorry to say it turns out work is going to conflict with this event for me so I'm going to have bow out of this one and go for the next one. Sorry guys I was really looking forward to getting into this event.
