welcome aboard mate!
LOL oh wow.
The tape part really got me.
This perfectly describes %50 of all airsoft reviews on youtube.
I was about to make topics like this, thank goodness I searched more.
I live in Scottsdale and am a minor. (But I'm seventeen, and in the NJROTC)
I just can't imagine where I could play airsoft and not get busted.
How far out do I have to go until I hit public desert?
Land that you can access legally and that is open to the public should always be fine. Just keep in mind that other people are out trying to have a good time too. You need to be aware of ATV/Bike riders that not only can endanger other players(by getting hit or something), but the chance that the rider isn't wearing eye protection. Also be aware of people shooting firearms, and people with dogs at their campsites  .
They are decent.
I've destroyed 3 of them and my brother 1. They just eventually give out after a few charges to the point which they only hold 200rd charge. That goes for both their NiCads and NiMHs so it will last you awhile but you will eventually want a good battery like an Intellect.
Just never leave them charging unattended since you probably don't have a smart charger.
As batteries for the gun I don't know what gun/battery size it is. You can't go wrong with Intellects or Elites in any case.
Keep in mind that semi-auto, and automatic are going to have a different effect on your battery. Starting it up to fire every single shot is going to drain your battery a bit faster than firing a quick burst with 3 to 5 rounds. With smaller batteries, you'll often want to have more than one battery. I would say two is safe, but 3 is better. Three is two, two is one, one is none, just kinda keep that in mind and I think you'll be fine.
