3lbs less than a real SAW when its empty. Loaded, the "base model" of the SAW is 22 pounds(mine wieghed closer to 25 becuase of the rail system, PEQ, an optics).

Thank you for the info. That does not seem like that much, but I am sure it is a different story when you have to lug the thing around all day.

The loss of mobility is acceptable to me. My loss of mobility will not be as much as others. The gun only weighs about 14 pounds, which I am told is no where near the real saw. As I am a large guy (6'5" & 330) it will not slow me down much.

My only concern is that with so long a barrel, CQB is not where this gun will shine. Anywhere else, its kinda scary/exciting. I can hardly wait to use it on other targets than empty cans and boxes.

I am still building the basics. But I have an Echo 1 M249, a tactical vest and goggles. By August I hope to have the rest of my gear situated.

I am trying to get some folks up her into it so that we can get some pickup games with decent turnout.

Welcome to the boards, Franklin. I'm sure some folks in Flag will chime in sometime soon. We do have games in Prescott, but you're going to be hard pressed to find monthly games that far north, at least I would imagine.

How often are there games in Prescott, on average. I would really like to get some games in, so that I stop making noob mistakes and become a challenge for folks.

I was wondering how many people on the forum live near flag, if they play regularly and what not. I was told this was the forum of choice for airsoft in Arizona.

I am especially interested in tactical (MilSim?) airsoft, and would like to attend the next Balkan Hammer at Camp Navajo with some measure of competence.

Wow, im not trying to be a poser, just trying to make it a better experience and you should just accept that. As an American it is my right to do whatever I please as it is yours. So I suppose you can continue to be assholes but it is really uncalled for. .

Okay dude. Your American right to do whatever you please does not exist. The United States is the best country in the history of the world when it comes to personal freedoms. Basically put, you can do much of what you want as long as it does not harm someone else or their property. As you are evidently young, I would like to try to give you some advice that you will probably not heed. LISTEN to your elders or to those who have more experience. If you approach someone with an earnest intent to learn from them, and a bit of humility and/or humor can aid this, they will more than likely be willing to help you out.

These guys on this forum are reacting to how you portrayed yourself, which was adversarial. You also will find that military guys can be quite touchy when it comes to having what they earned besmirched. They were trying to tell you that the idea of creating ranks and awards based on the military for the game of airsoft would take value away from those awards. These folks have given part of their lives to make sure this country is what it is today with those rights and freedoms we have. Shouldn't we [non-military or "civilians"] honor what they have done for us and not piss them off by imitating them in a way they do not wish to be imitated?

My two cents for what is worth.

Hello all!

My name is Franklin, and I live in the Flagstaff area. I am 25 and I was introduced to airsoft earlier this year by a friend of mine, SARC. He let me use his G36 at a game a little north of Tuscon. Although I was hit many times, I was hooked.

So this last weekend I purchased my first AEG, an Echo 1 M249.  .  I cannot wait to use this new toy, but I do not know any airsoft players in my area, if there is any. And though I was never in the military, I am interested in milsim's and would like to learn basic and advanced tactics as they apply to airsoft.

I am still working on my gear setup, but I have enough to be playable: googles, gun, H2O, vest rig.
