Exarach, do you run "Sophos" as a security program on your PC?

Simple fact is, obviously no research was done. They do not understand what airsoft is all about and that is blatantly obvious. No one needs to give them the cliff notes version, it's called gaining some experience and doing your own research.
So many things wrong here. Ex. How can I start up a National Basketball League when I have never been out to one of the many existing organized games currently held everywhere? And then have the balls to say there are few organized teams and/or no organization out there to give cash prizes too winning teams in order to make money on the game. Thus I am going to start an Official Association for basketball players and teams to compete in. Yeah it's Called the NBA. On top of that you only rearrange the words and call your "Official Organization" the Basketball National Association.
And yeah, your gona get some resistance here. Play for money = bad for airsoft and if it ever does happen, then we all have lost what we have strived to create here. And so for someone to come in here, new on the scene and suggest such bullchit is arrogant. Like Doc said, Your not the first and won't be the last. Don't take this personally but I hope the idea of "competing" for cash prizes in the "sport" of airsoft fails and dies hard.
Alright, slow down.
I just want to give you a heads up EVA_ALPHA since you are new here. There is not a whole lot of emphasis on teams as much as getting out to the games that are developed here on the boards. There are some groups that grouped together and do practice and play together, but the majority at the games is probably not associated with a team.
The way your post came across sounds similar to paintball, I don’t know if it is because I have not seen how you guys put it together, but that is how it is sounding and there is a big difference between the two groups, airsoft and paintball, and that is why you are getting some resistance there.
As Doc pointed out, there are organizations that elevate the scene, look up the Lion Claws series. That is the basic overall style that is played here, milsim events, not competitions between teams.
Now this defiantly does not speak for everyone on the board, and there are members that may be very well interested in what you guys are trying to do. Just giving you a heads up here.
Maybe if you take all the corperate paointball bullshit out, it might not be so bad. Im all up for some kickass CQB but a 2k prize? No! This isnt paintball! I can see my whole school joining this, just to not call their hits!i hear you on your concern about the prize, but that was just an example.. the purpose for this topic was to get your input and so far everyone sees the problem in the cash prize, Alpha team has met tonight to talk about the issue and we agree with you guys against the prize due to honor issues.. but that dosnt change much.. thanks for your REASONABLE responce.
Well... it reeks because for years before you came along many of us already viewed this sport as a LEGIT sport. Many of us have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars to attend national level events located at various active military bases in the US. Sounds pretty legit to me...
We also had the opportunities to spend time with documented and publicized military heroes spanning back to the Vietnam War. Rangers, PJ's SF, even foreign operators. Legit ? I think so.
Plus some of us have done this shitt for real. Thats legit any day of the week.
Basically all you are proposing is a paintfuckingball game using airsoft guns. There is a general distaste and distrust of paintballers around these parts... and well earned too.
So there is nothing "other" about this level of which you spew. Paintball has been around mucho tiempo my friend and what you are talking about is nothing more, even with your CQB "matches."
After you have kicked in doors at Zussman or the ranges at Ft. Hood, CQB "matches" sounds like a buncha bullshit.
So you are not the first "association" here in AZ or even the first to raise this line of stink. s***, even MMA was around long before you guys (sorry Dust, no bad intentions).
Basically you have a semi-interesting web site (that copies information from other places) and a few people. Cool.
Now, and this is the important part.... STFU and come to some of the AA events, attend a national event or two, EARN some street credibility, learn something, and THEN start your speedball society .... airsplat or whatever.
You are a novice and should spend much less time yapping.
But whatthefuck would I know anyway....Quote from: "EVA_ALPHA"Quote from: "-MAD- SARGE"Don't know but this whole thing reeks of arrogance. And that's the best way I can describe it in one word.
i dont see where you get that idea..
all we want to do is make this game into a legit sport. theres no arrogance in that, no pride, just a few friends that love the sport and want to see if there are others like us.. thats it. i can tell you this with certainty, A3 WILL be the 1st major association that will take this sport in arizona to a whole other level.. we have contracts with property owners to use vacant grocery stores to hold indoor, close quarter matches! all reproduction of houses, labs, bases, whatever!
but we cant hold the matches unless we get other teams involved. anyway, i was hoping that this topic would peak the interests of the players that have had trouble finding venues for matches and would like to be apart of this movment.. i guess its not for everyone in the sport, but we are hopfull
