After reading all of this, I personally would go with the taser.
I own MANY real guns and have a few ready for use if needed, but always wonder if I do use it, what will happen to me?
I have a wife to think about now, and I think I may get one of those tasers myself and one for her.

There are too many wacko's out there. And there are too many wacko's that are going to be telling the jury that I should be
put behind bars because I chose ammo that was known in the state of California to cause death to anyone who was shot by it...
I really don't like the idea of being @ss-fragged by a bunch of criminals that I'd rather be shooting at...

there are many articles on the differences between the Echo1 and JG.
i'm not 100% accurate, but Echo1 is basically an upgraded (slightly) JG.
the KWA is most likely a better gun. the major difference between the KWA and the Echo1/JG is that
the KWA has the larger handguard to accomodate a large battery. This is about an $80 option for the E1/JG.

I have an Echo1 MP5A4 RAS, but have no real shooting time on it to give you any info on reliablity of their product.
I do however have issues with the E1 as far as parts go. I've tried to buy a claw mount (classic army) and it doesn't fit. Wobbles
all over the place. I also purchased an adapter to thread on a silencer and I had to pound it in with a hammer to get it to work.

my $0.02

I've heard everyone's advice to stay away from Airsplat.
Unfortunately they were the only ones with the ICS MP5 silencer adapter I needed.
It was only $5 from them and $17+ from others. I just had to order it...
It came a few days later, all was well.
Sucked that it cost me $8 to have it shipped...oh well...
I prefer to drive over to APD since they are about 15 minutes from my home, but they don't have everything.
Just 99% of what I want. 98% of that I cannot afford...yet.

I think the OP is actually asking about the grenades, not the launcher.
I too am curious about the performance of the grenades.
I think I will be purchasing a Madbull short launcher (as soon as my Gov check arrives)
and don't really know which shells to get.

Do the lower capacity shells (24-48) have more range than the higher caps (68-120+)?
I like the price of the madbull 3 pack of shells @ about $125 for all 3, but they are only 24/shell (I believe).

Also, do they all have the "detent" to hold the bbs in place while loaded?

I just really wanted to give others the heads up that if they buy it they may not get it to fit easily.

it's an inexpensive high quality sight and I would think it would be more popular than it is for the money. spending $150 on a mount doesn't seem to practical for a $170 sight though. I can either file the mount on my buckmark wider or if it doesn't fit my new airsoft rifle (thinking about an AK), I can file it too... May be just that the mounts I have are out of spec. Looks like they shaved some height off the top rail of the TM MP7 which is the only prob with that one.

Accessories & Gear / Burris Fastfire FYI

Hey all.

Just wanted to pass along a first impression of this nice Red Dot Sight.
It's AWESOME!
Small, sturdy and very well constructed.
If you don't know what this sight is, it's much like the Doctor Optic's mini red-dot commonly found as a back-up attached to the ACOG.
I purchased mine from www.natchezss.com being that they have them for $170.00 and most retailers here charge about $250.00. I'd rather support local businesses, but that's too much of a difference.

I only have one issue, and it's really why I'm writing this here just as an FYI.
The cross-bolt that goes into the slot in a weaver rail is way too big [top to bottom] for the rail on top of my TM MP7 (works on the side rail, but I am not attaching it there). The same bolt is too wide for my Tactical Solutions weaver base on my Browning Buckmark as well. I am either going to file the slot to fit this on the buckmark, or...
I may have to buy another airsoft gun...lol.
My wife said that as soon as I sell my house I can buy anything I want...
I love my wife!
Anyone need to buy a house???

AEG's / MP7A1 Battery Charging Question
« on: May 12, 2006, 10:18:35 AM »
Hello all, I'm the n00b! Let the n00b jokes commence!

I just bought my first AEG. The TM MP7A1.

My question is how long should I charge the battery?

I do not read Japanese, and the flyer with the battery instructions isn't translated into english. I plugged in the charger last night and put the battery in, checked it in about 1 1/2 to 2 hours later and the battery was nice and cool, but the charger was about 4000 degrees!!! I unpluged it, tried to sleep, and have been shooting it all morning (about 200+ rounds so far), so it seems the battery received a full charge. I really didn't like how hot the charger was, so I suspect I had it plugged in too long, and I do not want to short charge the battery and give it any memory.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
