Well.. One I am a dueche for not seeing it was under real fire arms section.  Are you military is that why you want one.. thats the only reason I can see for owning a ACOG Or being on a special forces (SWAT).  At least thats my opinion for owning a ACOG

see that your location is Ft Stewart, you must be a soft skill and not get to fire rounds down range much.:D

The ACOG is not only for LEO or Military, if you have an AR platform like was said earlier it is one of the best IMHO, if your an avid shooter you want a good site so you can actually it your target all the time on or around the same place.

Not a fan either of BH's Serpa. I've seen (read: myself) people shoot themselves with airsoft (thank heavens) in the leg during force on force training. I have heard first hand accounts of others putting a round through their femur during training. I have seen first hand how a grain of sand can cause the mech to jam and the shooter being unable to draw the weapon.

No...gonna pass.

6004, blade-tech, Comptac, are what I use.

Y-

I have to agree with Yancy on this one, during an FOF course, my weapon system AD and tagged me in the leg, luckily for me it was airsoft.

I also use a 6004, I would serious rethink your decision on getting the Serpa

Great idea Chris, you are thinking outside of the box. The scenario with the pro mask on is very unique, and hasn’t been tried yet.

Quote from: "Firehead"
It is also a little unfair to require pro-masks, as not everyone wants to go out and buy one, so they can suck ass in a simulated combat environment.

See that is the difference of putting on just a normal event and a Mil-Sim event. You have to up the stakes a little bit. For those who do not want to purchase a mask that’s fine, im guessing they will not be invited to attend. For those that want to go that extra mile and actually see what it feels like to do a DA S&S on a building, and clear it from top to bottom.

Quote from: "azsarge"
If you're going to do this, it's got to be done right with CS or equivalent, which no one has access to.  Well, no one that would want to do this, anyway.

Some of us have PLENTY to let Chris have, and I would love to see people suck when they get it on their skin and cry like little girls

Chris, let me know if you want to borrow some Pro masks, I have about 25 at my disposal.

I am pretty beat-up...sore, tired and ragged...
I almost don't know what to say...

REGT and Mercy (and a morning Cameo from ED (HF)) I had an absolute BLAST...

I had a really great time, REGT guys did a top shelf job all weekend...first time I have seen the group really play at that level, with that kind of stamina and intensity (first 11.5 hour day started at 0400)

Way to really step up and bring all the training and patrolling to a focus
Too many really stellar momments...

1st Night OP ORD /FRAGO Brief...

REGT running IA drills and patrol skills in the dark in the freezing cold into the wee hrs on the Quad (thanks KILO!)  :|_|:

Dark 2 hr RECCE in the freezing cold ("Rough" Insetion and miss-drop) all objectives located and completed without detection from the SERB HK Team...(Great quiet Point work by Woody!!)Location and RECCE of FOB

Long RECCE / Border Incursion

Location of SERB Vehical / Armor elements

Location/ destruction of SERB Technical and Forward Patrol encampment

Location of NATO Pilot / Crash Site Location and GPS tagging...(tasked as a blocking/harrasment force...Arrived onsite well ahead of 10th SF / Ranger Detachment assault force, SERB QRF and Armor  was underway with Pilot abduction.performed Hasty Raid ambush and  conducted a successfull assault of location (Held by a much larger SERB Mechanized Infantry unit) in an attempt to interdict ongoing SERB recovery efforts... RECOVERED essential Crash Debris, "Sanitized" area with Thermite and Exfiled

Location GPS tagging / concealment of Tactical Warhead... for 10th SF Recovery
(I believe this was all conducted before 0900)

More to come...

You guys pushed hard all over the AO all day over some of the meanest terrain... and EVERY SERB unit wanted our heads
All the great Armor / AT moments are yet to come...(too many "Pvt. Ryan" moments to recount...)lets hear some of your observations and moments...

BTW...Squad worked like a MACHINE in Contact and on IAWe inflicted some HEAVY damage every time we came under fire
TEAM really made it what it was...

Good to see all the Regulars...Jen, Doc & Co.

Great to see and Hang and Play with MERCY (our LO...always a pleasure and a challenge) and KILO (SERB Advisor) (who so graciously dogged us and chased us the whole time with his HK team and CT QRF)..thanks for that Brother!

-Game staff did a great Job...missions / props and set-up was very cool and interesting...game design challenging and immersive...and for the first time someone really stepped up and "USED" the Vehicals...the ARMOR was not SHY

MAC-V Staff...you guys did a great JOB and we will put our heads to this and get you a propper and constructive AAR to help you guys grow...we are happy to support your efforts...as for this event you should be very pleased with the GAme you built...Great Time! good mix of Mil-Sim and Action, Very Fun AO...and YES much better than a Lionclaws type event... I think the size of the event is important...Smaller games are ALWAYS better quality...we will work on getting you that Event AAR on the criticals

-Thanks for the Hard work!

-Thanks for the Game!

VERY Fucking C O O L...

As for my AAR, here are my inputs:

Sustain:
- Vehicles (obviously!): This added a significant amount to the dynamics of the gameplay.  They allowed for a more rapid timeline to achieve dispersed objectives, allowed for wider use of a large AO by a small number of personnel, they added significantly to maneuver options, necessitated more rapid maneuver and movement decision-making, and significantly emphasized the roles of support and heavy weapons roles (SAWs to hold off large numbers of dismounting troops and heavy weapons to repeatedly hold off vehicles)

- Advisors: Looks like you took a great lesson from Recondo School here (or if you came up with it separately, good on you!).  The presence of semi-admin cadre along with the squads allowed for super-smooth evolutions, eliminating unnecessary stalemates and the inevitable search for that last enemy hiding in the bushes somewhere.  Gameplay could be adjusted from all sides on the fly, depending on the flow of the scenario - this allowed for almost non-stop operations the entire op.  The advisors also facilitated a team that had just been wiped out getting back into the mission more quickly, "recommending" a place for the defeating team to fall back to and then moving out his or her own troops accordingly.  Having a dedicated cadre constantly engaged to orchestrate the action made a huge difference in the experience and really made for a great experience.

- Props: Radiological devices, command tents, ejection seats, parachutes, blank-firing guns, etc ... all show tremendous dedication to the realism of the experience and professionalism of the op environment.  This is such a small effort in terms of planning, relative to major logistics like booking the AO, getting food coordinated, and developing the actual scenario plot-line, but is too often overlooked.  You guys pulled out a lot of details in the scenarios that really added to the "cool factor".

Improve:
- Schedule: For a two-day op to have nearly 11 hours of play on the first day and only 2 scheduled for the second day is a little uninspiring for the "less didcated" troops.  It is tough to get your ass kicked one day and then get up early, gear up, and get motivated to go out for only 2 hours on the next day, knowing that you still need to pack up, clean up, and more than likely make the long drive home afterwards.  The second day showed a significant drop in player attendance, especially on the IFOR side, due mainly to this factor.  This could be remedied by spreading the scenario out more between the two days and hiring more staff to do set-up and tear-down (even if it means kicking the registration fee up by $5-$10 or so per person) in order to allow for maximum time on the field.

- Communications: At many times, our unit felt very detached from the Command staff.  Unless we had an advisor with us, we felt very unclear of the actual objective and the status/disposition of adjacent friendly forces.  There was no talking between units (with the exception of the advisors) and Command was often difficult to get ahold of (due to being committed for driving vehicles and dealing with real emergencies).  All completely understandable, but next time a few more dedicated staff members could drastically improve communication and coordination between forces.

- Training: You guys did a great job setting up your challenges and integrating them into a smoot hcoherent scenario.  However, I think some of the objectives may have been a little complex for the average airsofter who might be interested in participating in your events.  The caliber of the participants and the complexity of the scenarios you incoporate could be elevated on the spot with some dedicated, planned training sessions (a good idea for the first night, maybe).  The troops in our squad that had little experience recon'ing and patrolling benefitted greatly from the opportunity we had on Friday night to conduct IA drills and rehearse our SOPs.  Not to say that I recommend making all your ops Recondo-like with lots of training, but some dedicated sessions would really would really motivate participants to get out on the field and practice their skills and would better equip less-experienced players to deal with complex objectives,at the same time growing the airsoft community to demand higher-quality ops.

Like we have been saying, this op and future MAC-V events have the potential to be "Recondo-like" in magnitude and experience.  People will be talking about your ops, for sure.

If any of us Regiment-folk can help in planning or executing future events, I have no doubt that we'd be willing to go all out for you guys.

Cheers! Apple Jacks

We had two players who joined us on the British 3 Commando Unit (BIO and PRINCE) who had never played the way we do or had the benifit any of that type of training and we (with some great help and instruction from KILO) squared them away in 1.5 hrs of drills on the Quad after brief...they really seemed to enjoy learning the skills and employed them with us effectively throughout both days of Evolutions

-Would also recomend more Post-Evolution Briefing to keep players focused on the flow and "plot" of the game, "this is whats going on" in the game world to help connect the individual players with the Story line and Scenarios that drive and motivate the game

For Example:
-Cut the "lunch time" with a Command Brief / AAR's for Squad and Unit leaders to then back-brief their squads while they Eat/Hydrate/Reload and Refit in deployed 360 security

-LOVED the Ammo restrictions BTW!! added a great tension factor to our situations...Could have made re-supply even more sparse to keep things really interesting!

OPERATION BALKAN HAMMER
                     October 26, 27, 28 2007
                    Camp Navajo, Arizona

The first thing I need to say is that I want to thank the staff of this great event. Mark, Chad, Chris and the rest of the staff. This was ONE of the truly greatest OP’s I have attended. It was run with very few Hiccups, and you guys took the time and effort to make sure the game ran all the time with little down time. When there was a real world incident, you guys shuttled the proper personal to the incident site, but kept the game moving so others can continue their missions.

AAR Serb Forces.
27 Oct 2007 0430

Units Tasked:
Saguaro 1(S1), Coyote Tactical 1 (CT1)(QRF)

Upon hitting the SERB FOB, S1 and CT ASOV formed a 360 perimeter; While CT1 was on a reconnaissance mission across the border. After securing the FOB, S1 went on patrol looking for any signs of USFOR presence across the border.  CT1 observed the IFOR move across the border and walk within a few feet of his teams hide, he gathered the Intel that was needed and called for extraction. At 0700 CT QRF drove the ASOV to recover CT1 and returned back to the FOB.

27 Oct 2007 0630

The rest of the Serbian force arrived at the FOB, with them was their Commander and the track vehicle. Upon arrival, the Commander sent the rest of his remaining force to patrol the area of operation. No contact was made on these patrols.

27 Oct 2007 0900

Call came over the net that a IFOR Reconnaissance plane went down in the Serbian territory, and that a pilot had ejected over the crash site.  Upon receiving the call, The Serb commander quickly sent out all his elements for a recovering mission. S1 was in the wood line searching for the Pilot and CT1 was patrolling the outskirts for enemy contact. Serb Special Forces(SSF) dismounted the command track and patrolled the ridge where the plane went down. S1 came over the radio and confirmed finding a pilot and debris from the aircraft. Serb Commander(SC) quickly brought the command track for immediate extraction of the pilot. Due to the injury of the pilot, S1 had to provide medical treatment. The Medic for S1 “Peteâ€￾ started treating the pilot for his injuries. The injuries were so severe that S1 had to pull some more people off of his 360 security and help with the treating of the wounds. After about 10 minutes of Pete and the others working on the pilot, CT1, S1’s remaining elements and the SSF were deeply engaged with USFOR and the Commandos. On the hill top IFOR were starting their decent down to our location, while the Commandos were flanking from the sides. The Command track was taking fire and there was casualties everywhere, S1 and Medic Pete finally stabilized the pilot and came up with a carpet as a stretcher (Great job CT2) with a couple of seconds to spare they loaded the pilot in the back of the command track and drove off the X and back to the FOB. CT1 and the rest of the Serb forces were mowed down from every side. The Commando’s then blew the remaining parts of the plane and parachute before heading back to their FOB to refit.

Advisor Critique:
Well what can I say, I gave the PL’s a hard time trying to deal with the pilots, it doesn’t help when I am coming up with stuff to make you guys think. Plus the fact Admin wanted you guys to extract while under fire, which is a task in it self, also when you add the fact that I would fire blanks over your heads didn’t help the situation.
Serb forces the only thing you forgot to do is make the area sterile, meaning removing any articles that was left on site. IE Parachute, clothing, Ejection seat, other then that you completed your objective.
Commandos and IFOR, Great job on pushing through the defense, you guys were about a minute to late.

Movements from both sides were outstanding; everyone was getting in the fight, whether it was a line push or an Australian peal or a flat out frontal assault, it looked great with BB’s flying everywhere.

27 Oct 2007 1015

Call over the net came into the FOB, the Serbs were tasked to Locate reconnaissance pod and debris. Upon Deployment S1 and SSF deployed into their respective sectors to look for the Pod. I was attached to CT1 and the QRF.  After patrolling the sector, they saw movement of Commandos to their flank. CT1 advised his men to push on the element. Using the ASOV they dropped part of their element to take them on head on, while the rest of the element put the ASOV on an over watch position. The vehicle was put not more then 15 feet from the ORP that the Commandos where in, when they Opened up on the ASOV, at that time the rest of the element came in from the flank  and the remaining members of the ASOV crew took the rest of the commandos out.
Over the radio I was advised that all the Serbs were in heavy firefights all along the area of operation.
After hours looking for the Pods and debris the Serbs were unable to find the Pods and the Debris.

Advisor Critique:
CT1 and Commandos, The fight you guys had was one of the best I have witnessed. Through out this evolution both sides were just bringing the pain and plastic death to each other, Whether it was Commandos setting up an L ambush or CT using the ASOV to block in the Commandos.  OUTSTANDING!

27 Oct 2007 1100-1200

This was a scheduled Lunch in place period, with units maintaining a 360 security.

27 Oct 2007 1200

All units resumed the search for the Pod. There were several fire fights in this area of operation. Both sides were bringing their A game . The result of this evolution was that the commandos had stumbled upon the POD during and earlier recon mission and moved the POD to safety and finally extracted it out of the Area.

Advisors Critique:
Good job on the Recce, for finding the POD on their Recon. That is what your supposed to do, mark the site with GPS grids and move the object in case it is important for later missions.

27 Oct 1300

Intel came over the net for a new mission. All available Serb units were to capture or assassinate the personnel of a UN vehicle.
Serb commander issued his FRAGO to his men and deployed his units. I once again was attached to CT1, Their job was to attack the IFOR FOB. Upon leaving the Serb FOB, they stumbled upon the UN Vehicle down the road and immediately made contact. The UN driver took off running into the wood line. The reporters that were with him were detained. One of the females was shot in the pelvis and had major traumatic injuries. So CT1 had to perform medical aid on the patient. CT1 called in reinforcements from S1. Upon S1’s arrival, the IFOR vehicles were making gun runs on the Serb forces. The command had to exfil out their wounded along with the UN patient. At this time the UN driver took off running to avoid being questioned, but CT1 PL chased him down, and proceeded to take him down. The medics were still working on the UN reporter with no avail. The USFOR were still hitting them hard with the gun runs and the Serbs were taking HEAVY casualties. After Finally extracting the Reporter and their wounded to their FOB, all Serb forces then proceeded to try and hit the IFOR FOB, but the IFOR defense was too strong.

Advisor Critique:

Movement to contact was great, the  only thing is PL’s need to move a little faster and get into the wood line so the IFOR could not continue to do the gun runs that mowed your guys down. Keep in mind that no matter what the situation is, you need to think of your men before the anything. Other then that I have to give credit to the gun trucks, for inflicting so much damage to the Serb forces.

1530 Game ENDEX  Day one evolution is over and all units returned to base camp.

The day was tiring especially for the ones who were up at 0330 to prep for their up coming deployment. The first day evolution was now complete and the unit commanders were making their adjustments for the following days events.

28 Oct 2007 0830

The Serb commander issued out his FRAGOS, The mission was to find the IFOR Commandos that were cut off from their main body. The SC sent out his patrols to find the Recce team that was hiding within the Serb territory. After patrolling the area, the S1 element spotted the Recce team and radioed for support. CT1 proceeded to support S1 and cut the recce off from their FOB from one side, the SC and SSF team came in from the back side and surrounded the recce team. After a bit off a gun battle almost all of the Commandos were KIA with only a few on the run. The rest of IFOR was trying to move in to recover but were outnumbered and could not rescue the cut off team. During this evolution CT1 had the task to ambush a IFOR vehicle, so the LT decided to make road blocks from down trees to slow down the IFOR vehicles and spring the ambush. While waiting for the vehicles to come down the road, CT1 was informed that S1 had captured one vehicle. After regrouping with the command element, all units had a new objective to attack the IFOR FOB. CT1 and the Command track with SSF onboard were on one side and S1 was on the other and we did a full assault. The Command vehicle was taken out by a rocket shot. ( Longshanks)  The personnel were taken out on the ASOV. S1 continued their push on the FOB but was not able to get any further and game was Endexed.

Advisor Critique:
The radio communication was the key to the surrounding of the Recce team. Great job to everyone for getting their.
IFOR you guys did a hell of a job even though you were outnumbered, you guys never gave up and kept getting into the fight no matter the odds.

My biggest gripe on Sunday was that why did most of the IFOR team leave so early? This was a two day event and by leaving Sunday you threw off the game dynamics for the rest of us. Look in the future if you are not able to stay the whole entire time, then do not bother showing up. I understand  if the were family issues, but other then that there should be no excuses for you to not stay the entire time.

All an all this was a great event, this brings the level up of the airsoft community. Staff once again thank you putting on a great event, Thanks to all who participated and helped before, during and after the game. Mercy and Doc thanks for being there and advising the IFOR and keeping the game moving.

Until the next one  KILO 42 OUT!

OP Night Scorpion 2
Hotel Company 1st Platoon
“Black Platoonâ€￾
AAR

On 10th March 2007, 0900 elements of Black Platoon and the rest of Hco, minus the “Strikersâ€￾ element deployed to our DZ.
Upon arrival to the Dz, the Platoon leaders gave their final FRAGO’s and re-briefed there Platoons. Mission was as follows, for the first 30 minutes of the scenario, both Co’s are guarded with one squad of PSD’s â€￾Strikersâ€￾ and the are to stay at the Company HQ. Once game was on, my black 3 element took point and lead us up and around the south side of the pond side AO. As Black three hit our objective, they were met my Golf company troops and the fight was on. Black two went down the embankment and pushed back the Gco troopers out of the wood line. My Black three went down the embankment and went down to the road, where they were told they were out of bounds, after adjusting their way point, they got into the fight. After an hour of pushing forward, we were losing men left and right. Gco gathered there troops and push our front. With a lot of my men KIA I stayed as long as I good and stating holding the line. My black two element was down to two members and they ambushed some of the advancing Gco troopers until finally getting KIA. Outstanding Job Black two for holding your ground with the overwhelming odds. After getting pushed back, we regrouped and held our lines at the “Alamoâ€￾. At this time Black 1 and Black 3 set their defensive positions. Black two came up with a battle plan to load up his Black two element on a Helo and get inserted into the Gco HQ. Upon getting their boots on the ground, Black two inserted into the opposing HQ’s and put up the Hco flag and defended their ground. Upon Black two’s radio transmission, I sent part of the “Strikersâ€￾ element to support Black two, but they never linked up, but the “Strikersâ€￾ engaged the enemy upon arrival to their Objective. Back on our end of the Battle field, we held the skirmish line with the Help of 2nd Platoon. Over the radio we heard it was “Endexâ€￾. After three hours the Scenario was over.

After our Lunch break, we received our orders and proceeded on with our next mission. The mission was to escort a village of refugees from the war torn Jungle to safety and establish another camp via tents, along with taking the refugees we had to hump out their “chickenâ€￾ and “crying babiesâ€￾. Upon insertion to the LZ, Black three once again was on point. After humping around the AO for what seem to be an eternity, the platoon “finallyâ€￾ reached the Objective. We realized that we were given bad Intel by game control. There were fire fights in between but I was not their to witness any of them or was I their for them hitting the objective. I was down on the field with a fellow soldier who had a Major Heat Cat. Scenarios two and three were put together to make a VERY long hump around the AO.

2000hrs night game began, the objective was to have Hco Co evade Gco. Upon completion of this evolution our CO evaded capture.

Day 2

This was the reversal of scenario 2, Gco had to move the refugees and their “babies and Chickensâ€￾, Once we were boots on ground and the Black one and Black two elements were on the move. My black three element was attached to 2nd Platoon. Once moving through the wood line, Black two was on point and took us straight into the wood line and we made a b line to the airfield, which Black two made a decision that they would place there camp at that spot. Great call Black two. Upon crossing the river and reaching the crest of the hill, Black ones S/S team flanked the northeast corner of the airfield, and Black two’s S/S team flanked the northwest corner of the airfield. Both teams identified the refugees, tents, babies and chickens. At this time we linked back up with my black three element. I moved black 1 and 3 up over the crest, while black two stayed in the over position watching our 6. Upon cresting the hill you could clearly see the camp, at this time I lined up the moved on to airfield and put them in a skirmish line. I called in “Prairie Fireâ€￾ on the command net, and had Black two blow his whistle so the command and 2nd platoon can get a fix on our position. Once we started moving forward, and suppressing and moving, 2nd Platoon crested over the hill and they lined up, filling the empty lines and we ROLLED over ALL of the defending Gco troopers. Once we got into the camp site, we tore down the camp and gathered the refugees, chickens, and babies after confirming with games control that we have the objectives, we killed those stupid chickens and crying babies. We set up a 360 defensive positions around the camp and waited for Gco to gather up their troops and do one last push. They gathered and tried and tried, but we held our lines. Game was over.

Overall I have to say I commanded an OUTSTANDING Platoon, no matter what I asked, they gave me 110 percent and then some. Hotel company as a whole was just INCREDIBLE, The motivation was always there, even though we humped an eternity, the bitching was kept to the bare minimum and the drive was on to accomplish the mission.

Hopefully next year I can be part of this great company and Lead you into battle again. Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen for everything, See you next year. MARCH OR DIE!

To all the AZ boys and Girl (Hell even you to Pilz) It was a pleasure being your PL for this Operation. You guys never gave up and kept pushing even though you were tired as hell EVERY SINGLE PERSON gave me 110 Percent and then some.

Black 1, You did an outstanding job getting your guys ready to move out on short notice and to do all I asked. You knew coming in, that I was going to hold you to a different standard then my other Squad leaders because you have the talent to lead, but have never been put into a postion to lead.

Drew and Rod, man you guys came through when we needed you, I asked alot of you two along with my Black 2 Scout element and you guys hit the objective running and did not stop until you gave me my AO back. I sent you two up, over and  around  the AO and you two NEVER Faultered.

Pilz, your a little smart ass and sometimes you say stuff that you should not say and you get on people nerves, but I admire your fire on the field. You were assaulting the right flank at one time by yourself after you Ranger buddy was KIA. You hustled and got the job done.

I dont know if I failed you as a PL, but damn I am Proud that I lead an OUTSTANDING Platoon.

Black 6 out!

Actually this thread was about how much intrest  there would be in a Best OF USA Marketing game in Arizona and not of what you heard. For one YOU shouldn't speak on a topic that you have NO CLUE on what is going on or is ABOVE your level of game play.
