General Airsoft Game Discussion / OPLC VI-Good Game!!!!!
« on: May 31, 2007, 10:55:49 AM »
Thank you for showing up and making OPLC VI a GREAT time.  It was weird not running with all of you and my apologies for not spending more time with you.  I'm gonna schedule playing a game in Arizona early 2008 if you'll have me down there.  I've been talking about it for a long time and it's about time that I get down there.

OPLC VI was different, I'm not use to not having Bravo/Alpha stuff going on.  With that said, I'm confirming now that I will be at Irene.  I know we talked about it a bit and I'm not sure if you guys are going or not, but it would be great to see you there.  You have time so think it over.

Mikey:  Sorry for the freq mix-up.  PM me a good radio to buy that can do the normal freqs and FRS/GMRS.

You guys take care and I'll see you when I do.

Gentleman,
For those of you going to this game, I'm looking forward to seeing you guys next week.  This years game is going to be interesting to say the least.  Just wanted to let you know that I'll be there and it's business as usual.  If you need anything let me know.  It's been too long and frankly I'm ready to send bb's sown range via AEG, GBB, or by hand if necessary.
Have a safe trip up and I'll see you there.  Mikey-I'll call on Sunday.

Thanks for coming thru you guys.  And yes I think AA is EXTREMELY F***ING COOL!!!!!  If you guys can, please send me one of your OD patches so I can attach it to my Plate Carrier.  Looks like I'm going Maritime just so I can open it from the side.  So the question now is, WHO TO BUY IT FROM and more importantly, what size......Suggestions?!!?  I've just checked eBay but not sure if I should buy from Canada or Asia.  Though I'm starting to get what this CIRAS thing is.  May have to break down and buy the TAG Model.

Whoooo HOOOOO the Admiral will be PISSED about that.

   Thanks for the advice,
    Marlon

1) the one that Airsofter1 (mikey lee) has been using seems to have held up realy well (supprising to me).

2)It does require some sort of rigid plate to keep its shape, especially in the back where all the parts attach.

3)I beleve it does, the loop in the back isnt dacron but if you need some I have some.

4)Mikey will have to vouch for that, I wore a ciras for Irene3 and it killed. I wear nothing but my own design chest rigs for airsoft so that my shoulders dont die. It realy depends on you buying the right size and not loading it up with a ton of heavy s*** you dont need.[/quote]

Thanks.  I knew I could count on you guys.  So tha Phantom works, ok.
In regards to the "Guarder Cord" thanks for the offer, I was trying to see if it didn'te come with it because I use to have that Guarder Ranger Vest that was REALLY bulky.  Hated that front zipper.  So Phantom it is.  I'll check it out.  Thanks for the advice!!!!!!

   PS
I forgot:  Which is better Land or Maritime?

Accessories & Gear / Help with CIRAS Style Plate Carrier
« on: March 05, 2007, 11:32:56 AM »
Wanted to check with you guys since you're pretty cutting edge with your gear. For years I've used the old harness and pouches and thanks to some motivation from you guys@OPLC & OPI I've made the switch. I've FINALLY switched to a Plate Carrier from Tactical Assault Gear.

Now the problem is that I did not realize that there is a Generation II that has side panels so I've lost some real-estate on the side and  was thinking of buying it:
http://www.tacticalassaultshop.com/cgis ... 97998.3904

While I was searching, I found this but don't want to pay $500 for it:
http://www.tacticalassaultshop.com/cgis ... 97998.3904

So with that said, what CIRAS Style do you recommend?  I've read some stuff on the Phantom but was not sure who they are or where it's manufactured.  I've figured you guys would know.

The main questions:
#1  Does it hold up in reagrds to durability?
#2  Does it require fake and or real plates to keep the shape?
#3  Does it have that "Guarder Metal Cord" that keeps it together?
#4  Is it comfortable?

Let me know what you guys think.  Also are you going to OPLC VI?
PM me if you are.

     Thanks in advance,
      Marlon

Thanks for the vote of confidence.  I'd most likely turn down an Officer Promotion.   I'm shooting for Sgt. Major.  It's tough being an Officer.  My heart is with the enlisted/troops. (Present company excepted, I like the AA Officers, hell I wish you guys were my Officer's when I was in the Corps.
Life would have been more fun.

Speaking of which, I wanted to ask you where to place my AA Patch.  I got a desert version one from you last game and I want to wear it on my uniform.  Could I get a OD one to for my woodland?  Also do you guys have a roster page w/photos.  I keep getting confused on who is who.  My apologies.

    Thanks,
      Marlon

I'm pretty sure he means at LCIV.

He couldn't mean at OPI4. 1SGT Castro was a goddamn destroyer, on the front lines, tuning lots of people up.

If they called their hits I would have had a decent body count.  My bad for trying to help civilians.  I kept telling them after I went thru thr trouble of helping them:  'Tell the Iman that Delta helps you".  I kept getting shot trying to help the locals.  So much for that,  It was OPLC IV when I fired 30 rounds.  I went thru 3 bags of .25's last weekend(That's A LOT for me since I usually fire single shot only).  I remember wasting 3 mags on a guy who I had dead to rights, funny how when he realized I was shooting him then he shoots back that I called myself out but he kept playing the game.  Oh well.  I need to come down and spend a weekend with you guys down there in Arizona, seems like you guys have all the angles covered with AO's/Gear etc....  It's been fun, and I hope I can make it to OPLC VI, I was cutting it close with our movie release this year.  If you guys are evere in the SF Bay Area, shoot me an email and I'll get you a tour of Pixar.

   Best,
    Marlon

I remember at LCIV you were sitting at the map/command table with all the little army men markers.  You had quite your own battle right there between tan and green, lol.

GOD DON'T REMIND ME.  LMFAO.  I kept one marker.  It was a soldier with a 1911 in his hand.  It's on m fridge to remind me of that game.  i think I fired 30 Rounds that ENTIRE weekend.

Gentleman,
It was once again an PLEASURE to run with you guys this year.  Irene was fun, as usual I could do w/out the politics but at least I got a chance to run with you guys again.  I'm always impressed with your team and the ability to improvise, adapt, & overcome.  Needless to say you guys have some GREAT gear too.  Mikey shoot me an email where to buy those headsets you guys had.  I need to get myself something like that.
I'm not much of a forum hound but I wanted to thank you guys for a great time and I'll see you@OPLC VI.

     Respectfully,
      Marlon Castro
