Hate to sound like an Echo, but....

I can live with the avatars on the right.... but the other stuff was fairly important (as anything on the Internet can be....) for smooth functionality.

Sorry for the late "chime-in" but I usually read the board at work - and Air Combat Command, in their infinite non-wisdom, decided to block all sports/recreation forums at the proxy level.... Something about non-essential traffic.... <sigh>

As far as I know (thought what exactly do I know) a silencer is the only thing thats illegal to a civilian.

Doc, Vince - Backcheck me on this...

As far as I can remember Silencers, Destructive Devices (missile launchers, Claymores, etc) and Automatic Weapons all fall under the ATFE regulations and are legal to own as long as you pay the appropriate Licence fee and tax - read thatMordita

One of the reasons I do NOT maintain a current civilian certification in EMS is because of the liberal good samaritan laws here in Arizona.
<snippety snip snip>

IMHO, In as far as the Good Sam laws go, having the cert is better than not. The legal test is 1. have you been trained in the procedure you performed AND 2. can you prove you have been trained. Even an expired card is better than nothing.

Example at hand - I was a AZ state cert. EMT-A (Ambulance rated) from 1973 - 1979, and an ARC Adv. First Aid Instructor from 79-82. Whilst employed as a Ambulance Driver/Attendant, I was trained to perform a  tracheotomy and how to intubate (this was done at a time that AZ was just formulating the standards for the EMT-P (Paramedic) certification). This was done outside of the "normal" curriculum, as no coursework existed at the time, for that level of training by my family physician.  As I cannot >prove< that I was certified to perform the procedure and if I do in fact perform one, I fully expect to be held accountable legally.

POP3 is used for incoming; and SMTP is used for outgoing mail.

What may be the issue is that MSN may use other than the standard TCP/IP port assignments for mail (like Gmail does). Typically Port 25 is used for SMTP, and port 110 is assigned for POP3 traffic. This can change to prevent port forwarding spamming.

Tried to check the MSN settings for ya, but the proxy at work blocks most forums....

Yeah, but there was no challenge to it... he'd get into a battle of wits totally unarmed.

Just a question - has any of the Mods checked his IP against old "Issue" folks like Flash/Ricky?

Wow, I wonder what cause him to do that.

That is some pretty screwed up stuf...

I feel bad for the family

Don't jump to conclusions. Both Mike and his wife suffered stab wounds (Unless the wife and he engaged in a knife fight...), so it's within Reasonable Doubt that this may have been a home invasion.  Although he was charged, that's a far cry from a conviction.

A lot of it depends on the mission parameters, environment, branch of service, etc. It's likely you'll need to Qual on a number of different rifle platforms.

There's a fairly good article here: http://www.military.com/forums/0,15240,146717,00.html (even if it was originally published in SOF...)

If you want to see what everybody uses for DM/Sniper roles, you can't beat Mel's website snipercentral.com (see http://www.snipercentral.com/worldrifles.htm for a list of rifles used by country)

Hope this helps.

You can NEVER go wrong by reiterating the safety regs. The one time you do, you invite a problem.

Is it true that you can turn the FPS down on it? Also, please excuse the stupid question... what's the minimum temperature I should be using green gas in?

If there is a way to tune down the FPS, it's not in the manual...
(See http://www.airsplat.com/airsoft-manuals.htm as a source of manuals for just about any gun.)

and AFAIK, there isn't a "minimum" temp for gas - just understand the colder the ambient environment, the slower the gas equalizes pressure. It's that way for any gas (Ye canna change the laws of Physics, Captain!), but all gases change physical states at different rates. CO2 changes phases faster than Propane, as an example.

Is a tight bore barrel even necessary, or is it accurate enough as it is?

Not as much as on other rifles, in my experience with one. I've had mine for a little over a year, and it's fairly nice out of the box.

And it's not just a case of lost property or damage anymore. Cases of Home Invasion are up, and even a "simple burglary" is much more likely to escalate into bodily harm or death now that is was 15-20 years ago.

Sorry, but if someone breaks into my house - I'm with Sarge -  it's "center of body mass" time.
