General Airsoft Game Discussion / Re: Poll on next PSC event

With all these teams forming across the valley, it would be good to host a tactical competition in the near future.

I recommend choosing Vanguard as the location because:
-There is a bigger diversity of rooms
-The doors and windows can be blocked off to make a custom layout.
-It's air conditioned and has a variety of amenities (food, gun rental, store, airsoft techs, ICEE machine, restrooms, etc)
-The lighting can be dimmed to provide low-light situations
-It's a clean field, so equipment, especially magazines, won't need to be thoroughly cleaned after the event, or after being  dropped on the ground

If you're looking for a good M4 platform, the Echo 614 is a great option. It is better than the base model M4 because it comes with a cqb barrel, flip up front sight, and a freefloat rail.

My 614 went through roughly thirty brutal confrontations in the desert, and went through two OP Lion Claws (not intense, but worth mentioning.)  It was also subject to hyper-violent dry fire manipulation almost every day for two years.

Amazingly the rifle stayed solid like a rock - it was not wobbly at all.
Besides two replaced springs, no repairs were made to the rifle.
After two years, the rifle left service in good working condition.

Just clean it out after usage, service it when needed, and refrain from modifying the internals, as this makes the gun temperamental and prone to failure.

how many milsim events have you been to?

Trying to stay on topic, Mil-Sim means simulating actual military combat. Even though you cannot completely simulate the real thing and budgets may be tight, measures are taken to make the experience as close to the real thing as possible. Deliberately purchasing a non-military weapon like the mp7 because it is lighter/cooler than the M4 even though they both have the same price and the same maximum effective range, is a habit developed from speedballers and LARP mages; it may be conducive to Metal-Gear-Solid-Sim, but not Mil-Sim.

An AK is just fine for CQB, but if you wish to buy a new rifle, go for an M4 carbine/commando.

Stay away from PDW type weapons, like the P90, MP7, MP5K, as they were not designed for assault teams.

Actually man I hate to say it but the simple fact that they aren't designed for assault teams is the entire reason to use them!

The average infantry rifle needs to engage targets out to 500 yards. (m16 famas aug etc)

Airsoft comes no where near that distance. Short weapons work just as well for field play if you can use manueverability to your advantage, with minimal loss of range in airsoft terms. Plus the Mp5/MP7/Other pistol caliber weapons have smaller mags meaning they are less bulky on your person. Less bulky means more mags.

Speedball  :D/  versus Mil-Sim.  [smilie=armata_pdt_07.gif]

Looks Great! But the price! $550?
That is actually a fantastic team registration price for what they claim to include in the event.

Can people not elect to be part of the American PMCs?

Why would you want to be a PMC? It is challenging and dusty.

Board etiquette?  This is AirsoftArizona, we've never been big on etiquette.

Allowing trash talk is one thing, but having no standards is a whole new realm of screwed up.

Any sugestions on what you think the best thing is to put on it?  Ive got a lot of rail space, and I was wondering if youd suggest a foregrip, flashlight, red dot, rail covers, etc.
NOTHING. YOU don't need rails.  [-X
