Hey you guys should talk about lowering the price. I mean with fightertown it was 6 field for 15buck. Here there really is just one field. Just a thought.

Yeah, I agree with this. $15 is the sweet spot for me after considering gas and all.

How about some pictures of the place? When I think of Fear farm... I think of nothing but a corn field that has been plowed and nothing standing but some weeds and dirt.

Not that I am going to drive almost 2 hours, but I think it would help people in the general area if they saw what you built there.

Here's some photos I took from the last game, I didn't really capture the whole field or gameplay as that wasn't my main focus.
The field makes a pretty decent AO IMO. Yeah, there are some open areas where the corn would be, but it's not acres apart like you may be thinking. The terrain is varied and has plenty of cover, including an empty pond complete with bridge, vehicles, assorted buildings such as a church, gas station and school, plus the two "factories" that PSC used for CQB. The buildings are fully furnished as well, which is a nice touch rather than the empty square rooms we're all used to. Some of the sessions had two games running at once, the field game and CQB in the yellow building. When everything is used all at once in one game, the field strikes a varied mixture of CQB and field play.

Essentially, Fear Farm as an AO is a like a small rundown town.

The images below should show off some of what I was talking about.

But, I agree with sgun480. If you live two hours out, I wouldn't worry about it since there is no guarantee on player headcount. It would be nice to check out at least once though.

Here's some of the photos from the game for you guys. Sorry, to you guys on the other team, I only really embedded myself with the MC.

And thanks to you who let me use your guns for my photoshoot between games. If I finish them up in time I'll get them up here.

I never new the guy heard he was great but never had the honor but that's besides the pout you two I realize your respected members of the community but knock it off this isn't about your petty rivalries and conflicts this is about Ron and his patch and his ideals not your place to post things to justify your actions so KNOCK IT OFF
I'll add my two cents, even though no one cares. For me personally, ill buy a patch because I know the money is going to a good man's family. The patch could have a unicorn flying over a banana phone and other such random shenanigans. It's more about the charity, not how cool it looks.

These.

And yes, I agree. I personally didn't know Ron, I just knew him as the guy who owned Gearbox and he knew me as "that redhead guy who buys the broken guns from his store." I'm doing this, like Sgun480 said, because the money is for a cause. In the end that's what this is about. We're all gathered here to support a family with their loss, not bicker over patch designs or who knew Ron the longest. I personally found some people(s) behavior here unnecessarily juvenile. I for one will be purchasing a patch regardless of which design we ultimately agree on.

Hey, guys, I plan on coming down a bit later to take pictures of the field, players and what not. If you guys have a "tacticool" gun or loadout, with your permission, I would love pulling some of you guys aside between rounds to take a few photos. Gun porn, essentially. Let me know if you're interested.

General Airsoft Discussion / Re: The Trouble with Vanguard
« on: November 20, 2012, 03:00:21 AM »
Just as a bit of evidence, both of these posts were screencapped from the Facebook group for the game. The names have been removed for privacy reasons, but the posters are free to come forth and name themselves if they so choose.

I was also personally told by a third person that he was turned away by Vanguard staff, I heard about several more secondhand, and there were multiple complainants in the game thread here on AA, but I don't feel like sifting through 40 pages of chaff to find a post or two.

Yeah, I was the third person, with you and Jason for the order. The whole purpose of my friend and I driving down to Vanguard was to pre-pay for Operation Zombie Hunter and just to have an excuse to play at the field since it was a while since we played there. Man, while I can see the company has grown with their new front desk and half of the staging area cut off because they were doing construction, none of the employees "knew" what I was talking about. I spoke to about five of their employees and none of them knew what I about Operation Zombie Hunter or who Phoenix Shadow Company was. Two of the employees actually handed me some flyer for some zombie event of theirs that was "going to be better anyway." BS, man.

And for the bag searching I was never aware of this. Regardless, I personally bring a lock and put it on my bag wherever I go because I've lost too many personal belongings at Vanguard. During TWO occasions I've had problems with attempted theft/THEFT there. It all started during a session at Vanguard last year where my gun died in the middle of a game, so I stepped off the field to fetch a fresh battery to only find a kid digging through my bag. The other times are the typical ones like others have posted where they would return to their tables after a game and find missing belongings. For me it was a bag of bbs (which I mark with a symbol in sharpie after buying so our bags don't get mixed up with whoever we may be sharing a table with) and a couple of speed loaders, which I mark very obviously with white paint and the letter "D" written in sharpie on them.

Anyway, if Vanguard has come to this like you guys have described, I think I'll take my money elsewhere and give someone else my business. Let's say, oh, I don't know... Tempe.
