It all depends on your preferences. If you prefer paint ball style airsoft, then you can make a m4 with a c-mag do the same job as a m249, and weigh half as much. If you prefer Mil-Sim, then the SAW is the way to go. Personally, I prefer Mil-Sim. Cost wise, you can stay in the same ballpark either way.
