Does anyone know if an ICS Readymag system will fit the SCAR-L?  Any other brands that might?

If you have a readymag and are in the Chandler area, I'd love to try and see if it'll fit my SCAR-L.

Those screws only secure the plastic hinged portion of the stock to the metal butt plate. I tightened them and the 2 screws on either side of the receiver to no avail.

I'm back! I decided I was lurking and that I should say hi. Most of you probably don't remember me or never met me as I played with AA 2001 through 2005. I'm hardly new, but I did take about a 3 year break from airsoft. To christen myself back in, I just got a new CA SCAR-L =) Anyway, I wish I had time to catch a game with you guys, but I'm only in AZ for the second half of December before I move out to the CA bay area to (hopefully) join the Cimmerians.

Anyway, looks like AA is as strong as ever and I'll be sure to stop by during big games.

wow, nice 2 year resurrection.  But, you put up some good info.

And on that note, the thread gets locked.  After being away for a few days, it's quite disheartening to come back to so much time-wasting garbage to wade through.  In general, drop the ad hominem attacks and cool it a bit.  True, a lot of people know people differently in person than on the forums, however, that doesn't give any license to be a total asshole on the forums.  They are privately owned and are not anyone's personal stomping ground, so a greater level of maturity, respect, and restraint would be appreciated.  The forums exist as a resource for airsoft and draw a ton of people on a frequent basis, so do remember that you are giving any visitors the only picture they'll have of AZ airsofters, thereby influencing their decision to come to a game.  

As a final note, if you do have any complaints, try contacting a mod about it.  We don't bite and I'll be as helpful as I can within reason.  Going straight to a complaint thread is pretty lame, as is attacking the caliber of the mods on this site as they happen to be great guys.  We all have lives and extrapolating anyone's hurt feelings from the myriad new posts every day is nigh on impossible without a heads up.

Yeah, that was me with the shield at the Cajun house.  In fact, another friend of mine had one too, and we did one stack of four behind each shield.  I think in that particular objective we were outnumbered and hunting the rest of the building (fairly large with a 'street' and some side rooms).  It was made of plexiglass painted black, curved using 3/4 ply cut on a bandsaw, with a clear plexi window about 2"x4" near the top.  The thing was only about 3' tall.  I had it on point with Kurn's Glock 19 and was able to sight through the view port, which actually worked really well.  The center (about a 14" x 5" area) was thin cardboard, but since it was dark, it took awhile for anyone to figure that out, and all the shots came in more towards my head and bounced off harmlessly.  So, not only was I crouched completely behind it, I was putting out fire with the pistol as Ninja covered me over my head, so it wasn't like I just turtled my way out with impunity.  We moved quickly and fired fast.  It was actually quite funny coming up on members of the opposing team and letting them see it for the first time.  The biggest response was "Oh sh*t!", followed by diving for cover.  Once the newness wore off though, it wasn't nearly as effective, but if you know how to use it, it was a formidable piece.

IMO, bottom line with a SWAT shield is that you can't make it invincible (hence a carboard center), you can't make it a fort on wheels by making it too big, and you have to incorporate some kind of drawback into its use (ie, make it heavy with some weights and restrict any weapons use to a pistol only).  Mine broke recently and I wouldn't build another one unless we had some dedicated CQB action that was pretty guaranteed.  Also, I built mine specifically for use at the Cajun House, so as long as you have realistic expecatations about when and how it can be used, build away and have fun with it!
