Hey All! I'm New (Duhr?)
« on: July 03, 2006, 02:01:43 PM »
Hey all, Whiskey11 here (Said One-One not Eleven, please)

Background and boring info:
I currently live in Nebraska, just north of Omaha and have been airsofting with the Greater Omaha Airsoft Association for about a year now.  Airsofting in Nebraska is pretty new and there is only about 40-50 of us that play regularly.  I've attended several mini-ops that our group does and have attended one major op (Operation Broken Allegience II) in Iowa.  I've come from no previous background of weaponry other then the love for tactical gameplay.  I had once thought about paintball but deemed it too expensive for my taste.  By chance I landed myself on a website selling cheap airsoft guns and thought about giving it a whir.  My First AEG (M14) came in August and my first game with the GOAA was later that month.

So your wondering: "Why is this fool here, now, on AA?"  I will be attending College at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott and will be dragging my gear with me to maintain my hobby and will be looking for games locally!  I've been snooping around this site for some time now and decided its finally time to post up.

Guns:
-TM M14 Upgraded to somewhere around the 400fps mark (I plan on checking before leaving for college and I plan to reduce it to your guy's field limits.
-TM HiCapa 5.1
-ICS M4A1 (2006, enroute!)

Gear:
Imagine a D-Boy from 1993 in MARPAT... thats basically the look.
-J-Tech M.C.F.C.V Chest Harness (OD)
-J-Tech TP-1E Body Armor (OD)
-Delta Styled Helmet (BK)
-G&P Knee Pads (BK)
-Webbing Belt (OD)
-Drop Holster (OD)
-J-Tech Waist Pouch (OD)
-Magnum Responses (BK)
-TM M14 (Custom Painted for Woodland)
-TM Hi Capa
-4 M14 Standards
-1 M14 HiCap
-1 HiCapa Mag
-TruSpec MARPAT BDU (Blouse and Trousers)
-Guarder X500's

I'm not Geardo, and this list is not perfect.  The look suits its purpose and thats how I like it =)

I Hope to see you guys in the fall if college lets me off the hook long enough to play.  Untill Then I'll be hanging around here getting to know you guys and around Arnies Airsoft (Name: UrPeaceKeeper)

Nebraska Heat is much worse then Arizona Heat.  Arizona has less humidity :)  Last week here it was 102 degrees outside with 85% humidity, felt literally like it was 130.  That and I LOOOVE Arizona weather :)

Outa curiosity,  Where is the place in Prescott that you guys play?  I've tried finding it on Google Earth but i'm not sure of its exact local.

Not me, I lived in PA and can remember 90 degrees with 90% humidity.  It was like living in HOT bath water.  Plus I hated the winters.  I like the climate of AZ.

Welcome to the boards Whiskey 11

Charlie, I'll have to agree with you about PA humidity, I'm from Reading if you know where that is.  I'm there right now and it was REALLY humid because of all the flooding.  Luckily, I'll be getting back dry weather tommorow!

Welcome Whiskey 11!

I'm from central PA, State College Area.

Whiskey you say you like AZ weather, I take it youv'e been here before?  If your used to humidity then I think you'll do well in the AZ heat.  Just drink lots 'o' water and Gatoraide, and plan to sweat alot.

I like the looks of your gun, look forward to shooting with/at ya.

Charlie

PS Nosmo, I know Reading, my ex-wifes family is from that area.

Been a while since i've posted :) I'm used to nebraska Humidity, which if you've never been here can be quite excruciating at times.  Two weeks ago I was shooting shotguns where I work at our range and it was 123 degrees with 80% humidity.  The rest of the summer is usually around the 100's with 75-90% humidity.

I've been to the southwest numerous times,  Texas twice, Arizona 4 times New Mexico twice, all of these for about a weeks time and it feel wonderfull :)  I know the usuall "Drink More Water" Routine,  I work at a Boy Scout camp all summer, and that is our trademark line :)

Where at in Prescott do you guys play exactly? :)
