My rifle is a Rock Island Arsenal rebuild, one of the batch that they rebuilt immediately postwar ('47 dated barrel, RIA rebuild proof marks). It has various manufacturer's parts (HRA trigger housing, early WRA op rod, etc.), so I suspect that it's been rebuilt since then. Dec. '43 production receiver, SN 2251XXX. Another neat feature is a gas piston cut, just below the front sight, which was of course modified to create a tighter fit around the barrel. Muzzle wear= 1, Throat erosion= 2.5
BUT IT'S AN M1, WHAT DO I CARE???!!!
