I think I have maybe ran 1 or 2 mags dry in the games I have played out here in AZ.  If I think im anywhere near the end of a mag I will toss a new one in I typically carry 12 mags on my gear, and I rarely go through more than a 4 or 5.  There was one game up in Prescott where I shot every single round that I had on me, which included reloaded and partialy used mags.  Now THAT was a fun game.

Cause you do SO many SPECOPS missions right mikey?  :P I found that you can actualy fit  7 M4 Mags..even 8 if your really carefull.. into a Normal sized ROLLY POLLY...

No Busta, I just happen to play a lot more than you :P!  You can fit that many mags in a RollyPoly, but you have to actually take a bit of time to get them in there to fit right.  With the CSM dumper you can just toss them in there with out needed to fidget with it to get that many to fit.

Ryan, I use para-cord type mag pulls too (cheap, easy, and simple).  I am hard on my toys like azsarge.  I have dropped many mags on concrete floors without any damage to them.  But thats just me...

Yeah, I'm gonna do the Para-cord dealio after next game on my g36c mags. I'll get an m4 variant soon, but since my mags are fragile, I shouldn't drop them, which is where mag pulls will also come in use.. I can hold the cord till I can toss it safely or put it away.

And remember I said "Shouldn't"... I still do, which is why they'll break in no-time.. so those magpulls are well needed by me. ;-)

Airsoft parts in AZ are just like Havs mom, you get it, use it for a while, then pass it on. [smilie=armata_pdt_18.gif]

Why?
Busta, for someone who goes apoplectic when the topic of younger airsoft players and maturity problems is noted, you frequently demonstrate an appalling lack of it. That was simply uncalled for. I am offended for Hav/Matt and I have never met his mom.
You owe them both an apology.
In the future you might find yourself to be the target of less criticism if you would show a bit of respect and self-restraint here.

The problem is you don't KNOW Matt, I do and I know he is not offended by it, as its more of an ongoing inside joke. So unless I am talking directly to you, I don't know why you are getting offended. No one around here seems to have a sense of humor. Get over yourself and stop getting so butt hurt about EVERYTHING.

More something I expected from Tim. He actually deserves my mom...you know why? Because he CALLED HER BACK.

Still, you never really were part of it. Tim was the one who started it. Always was sort of me and his thing.

Ok back to topic....Either way you go, whether its ranger plates, OG magpul's or some paracord, its just personal preferance and what works for you and your budget. For about $10 bucks you could paracord 200 mags! For $30 you can get 12 OG magpul's. And for about $19 you get a set of three ranger plates. That reminds me that I actually need to paracord 3/4 of my mags. :)

I just bought some ranger plates, and have a question.  With airsoft mags, do you put the magpul on without the new plate?  I don't see how it can be done being that airsoft mags don't have springs on the bottom like real mags.

I don't have the locking plates on mine, and they work fine for me.

I think some people do, but there's also modifications necessary. You have to dremel the bottom of the mag or something. I had Riath do mine.

Thats what I figured.  I have the magpul on without the plate, and it still feels pretty sturdy.

If you're not going to use the locking plates, I'd say pre-bend the magazine floorplate tabs inward a bit so that the Ranger Plate is nice and snug.  As part of your post game maintenence, check each mag to make sure its not loose.
