Not aware of any other games, The lockdown-03 looks like fun, but then again so does the QCB compitions!

Paco since everyone that went to CD thought it was so bad why don't the three Airsoft organizations here band togather and hold their own event? I'm sure we could find a ranch that wouldn't mind a few hundred people running around making the place look like WW3!

While I didn't hear anything about Op: Lockdown, I did hear good things about Operation Lionclaws (which was put on by a company that's name I can't recall at the moment)

We're certainly not limited to Dollarhide engagements here.

I've also heard rumors of an OSG4 happening sometime in the future, but thats probably old news.

OSG4 - rumors yes - but put on by the people (JetLegend) who did OSG3 - no (unfortunately).
In my post, what I meant was that I didn't want us to be limited to CombatEnterprises stuff, but there aren't any other 'consistent' event organizers that I know of...

Ken, we did try to start planning a 'big' event for AZ, but that seemed to fall apart pretty quickly. I think we need a larger group of core airsofters here in AZ before we can REALLY take off in that direction... but that's just my opinion. In addition, it takes a LOT to get a big game going... if the first attempt at it is anything less than "awesome", it will be difficult to get others to come around for a second try a year later. Only a handful here have been to a couple of the big games in CA, so we could probably use a bit more experience as well... One of the two I went to in CA (all over 100 players) was run very well, the other was planned well, but executed very poorly.

The good one was run by Joe aka "JetLegend" of the Cimmerians. He has bowed out of airsoft since August of 2001 when he organized it.
The horrible one was run by Dave Dollarhide. He could have done a MUCH better job of organization and leadership, but to his detriment, there were a LOT of cheating idiots at that game which made it that much more difficult to organize.

Ken, There is a large event planned for Arizona. Actualy there are four events planned. The first Airsoft Special Operations Course (ASOC) is in March. This one will be an arizona invite only and will be a test run to work out any issues. The next one will be in June, September, and December. The June event will be declared as the first ever National Airsoft Training School ever! We have teamed up with several businesses to help us put on the event. FPS Magazine is very excited and can't wait. So far we have a planning staff of eight people. The training will be divided into several courses, scout, rifleman, and sniper/spotter. Each team will sign up and declare their positions.

We are also combining a several missions into the event so that you can practice your new skills. This will be a high paced event due to the amount of information that we will provide. There will not be time for sitting around. And there will be one surprise mission which will happen when you least expect it.

We will require OPFOR Units to help us carry out this event. So have your team leaders contact us. We are also interested in anyone else who has military background who would be interested in instructing. Send all your emails regarding this event to asoc@usairsoft.org.
Well, now that 2002 is rolling to a close, it's time to start planning which "big game" we'd like to attend for 2003. I think all of us agree that Dave Dollarhide's games are not the best, but his company (Combat Enterprises is comprised of 9 individuals - 1 of them being Dave) did put on one good game in 2002. Unfortunately, it wasn't the game we chose to attend.

I would have liked to go to Op: Lockdown as I have heard from a number of reputable players that it was the best game they have ever been to. Here's the site from it: http://www.combatenterprises.com/oplockd/

Op: Lockdown 2 will be November 21-23 in Fort Ord CA at a jail there:

Here are some of the other upcoming games for next year:

Now, all these are "Combat Enterprises" events. Is anyone else aware of any other 'big games' that are being planned in the surrounding states for 2003?

My team wants to go to the Nam 3 and since Crimson Dunes 2 is going to be held in San Diego, we are going to give it another shot and see how that goes. Lockdown would be nice, but it's highly limited on the number of players.
