REM. M700 Varmit

Hey, I am probably going to get a model 700 soon The problem I'm Having is which one. I like the varmit synthetic with the fluted barrel, but I'm not sure if that is the best one or if a bull barrel unfluted would be more accurate. Also any ideas on scopes Im currently looking at the model 4 from luepold. I want accuracy (.308) round.

I am also looking to purchase a Remington 700 around December. I am leaning towards the SPS version as of now but may change my mind before I get it. Also it would be nice if someone could comment on the price and availability differences between the .223 and the .308. Thanks

I have a Remington 700 PSS in .308 and a Remington 700 ADL in .223.  Obviously, the 308 has quite a bit more kick.  What would you like to know?  I use the 308 and my wife uses the .223.  The 308 has Laupold Mark IV mount and rings and a Leupold Vari-X III 6.5-20x40 scope on it while the .223 has a Tasco Super Sniper Scope - 10x42.  I didn't get a Mark 4 scope because I found it difficult to justify spending more on the scope than the rifle.

I am having the barrel on the .223 cut down to 20" and threaded.  It will be the host gun for my TAC16 suppressor, but will also be able to accept a flash suppressor, and therefore my Gemtech HALO if I so desire.   :)

As for a Remington 700, I can't say I have heard of the "SPS" version.

ok if you get the bulled barrel you can shoot 100s of rounds in it in one day and the barrel is not that hot so it will not melt so that it is always in line.it will be very accurate if you take the extra 1hr to sight it in on a dime at 100 yards

but if you dont get the bulled barrel you will not be able to shoot 75 rounds a day and then it will be so hot you could roast something on it. and it will not be as accurate

oooo ya and i forgot that if you get the bulled barrel it will very heavy
