I've had mine for about a little less than 2 years now and I still love it.

I wrote up a small review of my initial impressions when I bought it.  A search should reveal it here somewhere.

With regards to the hood becoming sluggish, it does.  Like any other mechanical device, it operates best when clean and lubricated properly.  Mine was particularly rough and had a kind of grinding feel/sound to it so I took it all apart, cleaned it with mineral spirits, and lubricated it with some teflon lube of Airsofter1's.  Molybdenum grease would work well too.  Try to avoid low viscosity lubricants like wd40, spray silicon, or other light oils since they will just collect dirt.  Stick with greases that will stay put and use just a small ammount.

Raith, right on about the 6004 not rolling well.  But I have to say that I've never rolled at a game, and I doubt you've ever done it either.  It's ability to deal with a roll is definitely worth commenting on, but funny nonetheless.

I like the straps.

It's missing a side-release buckle on the top of the vertical strap, but that can be easily added for ease of attachment without having to take your belt halfway off.
The 6005 has one....

You've never rolled?  Its a lot faster than getting up if you have to move laterally in the prone.

As far as I can tell, the 6005 differs from the 6004 only in that it has a fastex buckle in the hangar.

In 9 years of special operations service, through the police academy, and in multiple real gunfights, I have never once rolled. It may be faster for getting in and out of cover on your belly, but 1) you won't be able to roll with your LBG on anyway, and 2) in general the value of prone position firing is negated by the immobility it causes. But then, unless you are a cop, or at a pistols only game, the need for a pistol is almost non-existent too.

Sorry to reply to an older topic, but.. I had to ask. Ben got me thinking. On the UDHP, what's the point? If I ever got a 6004, I'd get a MultiCam one, because I'm a dork. But, for the average guy.. why have it? The 6004 seems to work fine. the UDHP has webbing.. that I would probly never use. Why get the UDHP?

For those of you that don't know..

That's a UDHP. I'd get it because it's MC, and to support HSGI and SKD :-)

Some people think the 6004 is uncomfy for long field use.

Hotter yes, but I've never been bothered by the shroud.

The purpose of these rigs is to allow the use of a 6004's body with a more comventional legstrap system that will be a bit cooler and more comfy for long hot days.

Consumption of substances containing MDMA does not count.

This has got to be some kind of record.
