Before you ask, no there is no real point to this, other than boredom and my curiosity.
Well, it's that time of year where software companies frantically try to finish their games in time for Christmas. The consumer often chooses only a couple out of the many games being released. I'm primarily a strategy fan, so this season is rather disappointing for me.
Games I plan on picking up:
SupCom: Forged Alliances - This brings the game to what it should have been originally. The beta makes me cry tears of happiness.
Call of Duty 4 - Could this finally be a suitable replacement for BF2? Demo indicates yes.
GalCiv II: Twilight of the Arnor - They continue to make a fantastic game even better.
Games I DON'T plan on picking up:
Empire Earth III - They took a decent game and ripped off it's balls in the meanest possible way.
Gears of War - Sorry Xbox fanboys, this was not anything special enough to warrant my buying it.
Unreal Tournament 3 - Just not my cup of tea.
Universe At War - 3 weeks into the Beta and I have yet to be able to log a single minute of playing time. No thanks.
Possible impulse buys:
NFS: Pro Street - I have never regretted a purchase more than the purchase of the last two Need For Speeds. I swore I would never buy one again. However the demo gives me the slightest hope for this game.
Alan Wake - If I'm really bored I might pick this up just for giggles.
Soldier of Fortune: Payback - I miss SoFII sometimes. If this pays heritage, I might pick it up.
Crysis - I wasn't originally going to get this, but the beta changed my mind. However, I see myself getting bored quickly with this, so I may pass.
What is going to get your hard earned cash this year?
