Actually, 20 weeks minimum for my medical stuff, 3 weeks of airborne, lots of training after that. There are a lot of options open right now.  8)

6 Day basic? Did you mean weeks? I'm assuming you meant weeks.

Just remember these key things:

A.) Don't believe shit, until it happens(this goes for even after basic training).
B.) The Drill Sergeants are going to fuck with you guys on purpose, there will be animosity. Don't let it get to you too bad.
C.) Day 0 sucks.
D.) Everything is a game
E.) Learn to sham...quick. If I had known half the things I know now, basic training would have been a breeze.

I speak from Infantry basic training, so anything you go through can't be to horrible.

F.) Volunteer for everything.  Seriously.

You get out of your military career what you put into it.  If you spend your time running from responsibility, you're going to make a name for yourself.

The kind of name that's on extra duty rosters.

sooo true. its big boy time now, don't be a tri-care ranger, no excuses, no running and hiding, you alrerady volunteered to this point, now keep it up.

People ask me how I got all the ribbons and medals I have, my answer everytime - I raised my hand.

*EDIT* I meant it as volunteering to go places, as in campaign, and expedition ribbons. I AM NOT CLAIMING TO BE A HERO. I have 3 tours. 2 of the 3 I volunteered for.

-Active Duty GI Bill with kicker + National Guard GI Bill with kicker + $11,000 a year tuition reimbursement + and $20,000 student loan repayment. oh and the tuition reimbursement and loan repayment thats only in the Guard.

-Pick your your MOS not just a desinator (I.E. 11x, 13x, 92x) have a real MOS prior to shipping.

-Begin drilling now begin getting PAID now.

Active duty pays for tuition ..

Tuition reimbursement is not just for the guard. Sorry.

Good luck  I know it's a little late now but. have fun when you get off that bus :)

Silver,

I belive your mistaken,

The Active Army does have a Student Loan Repayment Program, or called ASLRP. what I was talking about the 100% or $11,000 a year in state (AZ ONLY) College Tuition Reimbursement. Which is a two different things.

The CTR is only availible through our state thanks to the governor. Because its paid with your state tax dollars, and has nothing to do with the federal government. The CTR is for use while the soldier is going to school, it pays in state Tution, while enrolled.

The National Guard does have a Studen Loan Repayment Program up to $20,000 also called SLRP. The Active and NG SLRP is used to pay off Student Loans, which is different from Tution Reimbursment.

to sum it up, yes the Active Army has the Student Loan Repayment just as the Guard does, however No the Active Duty doesn't have Arizona College Tuiton Reimbursement.

it gets muddy when you try to explain the different things, and it seems like they change the benny's every month.

i know right now theres a 65k enlistment bonus for non prior 11b Active First. yep thats right we enlist for the active duty now. thats how much things change!

Army chicks aren't hot. Its the airforce that has all the bangin' ones. I've seen one, maybe two attractive army chicks...all the others need to shave.

Enjoy the Shark attack, dumbass.

"Put that fuckin' bag over your head you piece of shit!"
"...are you fucking quitting on me already?!"

Well, you'd remember that well, since you were just there a few months ago!

As for the Army not having hot chicks, they do.

And they all go through Ft. Sam.

Now, AF has the MOST.  AF also lets the girls wear makeup.

Coincidence?  I think not.

Department of the Navy has some good ones too.  It all depends on where you get deployed.  I think there are 10x as many hot chicks where I am as there are chicks TOTAL where Ian is.  I got lucky, while he's out shooting people.  Oh, and I have a Dairy Queen.  Well, two.

Life is unfair.
