Accidental Pulling the Trigger

Excpet Glocks dont have "accidental discharges."  You HAVE to pull the trigger before the 3 internal safety system disengage.

He pulled the damn trigger - the weapon fired - he is a fucknutt....

Personally I keep a trigger block in mine "just in case" and it takes no extra time to deploy and fire the weapon.

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. - A firearms instructor in southern Massachusetts has been assigned to other duties after his gun accidentally went off while he was teaching a class on weapons safety.

Officials say the Glock handgun discharged while Maj. Donald Lamar was demonstrating to Bristol County deputy sheriffs how to safely holster the weapon.

The bullet ripped a hole in Lamar's pants but missed his leg and foot.
Sheriff Thomas Hodgson says the officer made a "gross error in judgment" by not emptying the weapon before the class last week.

Lamar, a certified firearms instructor since 2005, was transferred to another division and will not carry a firearm while the incident is being investigated.

Pretty terrible when they have untrained personel, training other personel in the use of firearms. I agree with you. Someone needs some retraining, along with a smoke package to ensure he remembers his training.

AZSarge and I had a discussion once about the term "accidental discharge".   The army doesn't use this term anymore, they use "negligent discharge" because there are no accidents with firearms, you have to break a rule of firearm safety, and I agree with the term change 100%. ALWAYS follow ALL the rules ALL the time, and you won't have any "accidents".

I was going to point out that there is no such thing as accidentally pulling the trigger, but my colleagues have already made a point of it.

I keep my finger the hell out of the trigger guard unless I'm going to kill something.

In my line of work, a single ND (well, burst) could be VERY costly, both in the monetary AND human toll.

This reminds me of a story I heard at Red Dagger. Apparently some kid on the U.S. Forces side was refilling the gas in Glock with the magazine loaded and still in the gun, needless to say he "accidentally" pulled the trigger while the Glock was pointed at his crotch.
