Red Dawn was one of those films that showed what real Americans can do against an evil enemy. I saw it when I was a kid and I still remember a lot of it - the Soviets landing and shooting up the school for example. And, of course I always thought I'd be one of the guys hiding in the hills and guerrilla-ing the Soviets' butts.
Ya gotta wonder, though, what a remake would do - especially since Hollywood can't seem to make a movie where Muslim peoples are the enemies. (Well, Iron Man seems to be an exception.) And the stupid ideas around the US that we're the enemy and have hurt the other guys.... Let's just say I'm not expecting this movie to have that same American feel-good that Red Dawn had.
