Building an Arsenal

I currently carry around an Echo1 AK-47 RIS, and I'm starting to think of another guy to add. I'd like to stick to soviet bloc weapons or variants, but, I'm not overly picky. I was thinking of either a support weapon, like an RPK or some such, or a smaller AK74s Spetz Beta or something. If i went the "little gun" route, I might think about building up an anti-armor kit for the bigger games with actual armor in them, like the slightly-recent Red Dagger, and if I went the big gun route, well, that's self explanatory. I'm just not a fan of playing as a sniper or sharpshooter.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. It's a hard decision for me to make, to be honest.

Don't build an 'anti armor' kit.

Those are expensive to do right and your ROI will be very, low.

If you want to do it right, PM Wicked-Mpact and buy one of his AT4s. They're only about $400.

I have an Escort HK416, an Inokatsu AKM, a Mk14 of too many manufacturers to be pinned to just one, and a mid-length Classic Army M4.

I have never been at a deficit such as, 'Man, shit, wish I had ____________(this gun)_________'.

I had a Classic Army Mk46 sitting around for awhile which I never, ever used.

If I were you, and you wanted something different than what you had now, I would get an M14. They are going to be the most accurate, longest ranged platforms to do stuff with. I really like mine. The only problem is that the magazines are cumbersome and require special gear (you can use M4 pouches for AK, MP5, M4, P90).

However, airsoft is about having fun. On the same tier of quality, guns are all going to perform about the same, they're just gonna look different. If you want an LMG of some sort -- do it. If you want a small gun, do it. I don't like small guns because the range of your AEG is dependent largely on your inner barrel, and, small guns have small inner barrels. Unless you have a P90. Then, you have the unfortunate consequence of owning a P90.

My picks for a SAW would be an Inokatsu or RMW RPK.

My pick for a small gun would be a KAC PDW whenever those come out.

Well that was the next step on that "anti armor" thing I was thinking of. Picking up one of those wicked sweet AT4s and carrying around a smaller gun to lighten the load. Still, it's a tough decision. I really like the idea of carrying around some sort of LMG, but the main point is: I have 1 gun, and I'm nailed to the role of rifleman. I'd like some options!

Does it utilize a spent tube, or are they built from scratch?  It's hard to really tell in the picture, but it looks as real as I remember them...

 Pretty much everything about eastern bloc airsoft is there, and lots of discussion on Russian military history, to better aid accurate representations.
My own goal is to eventually resurrect Moskvaspetsnaz, if someone doesnt do it before me. 'tis time someone gave all these westerners a challenge. At least, I hope we'll be... But, I am young, and foolhardy. So, we will see.

  I wouldn't get the CA one.

 As for Beta AK's, I only know of two manufacturers. TM and Echo1.
 You're in luck, because when it comes to snipers, accurate SVD's and similar eastern sniper rifles, are hard to come across.

 And, as for anti armor, whil not particularly suited to taking down more modern tanks, they have several models of the famous RPG-7. Last place I saw one was at http://www.redwolfairsoft.com, although why you'd want to carry around such bulky weapons, i don't know.


Also, if you want to look the part of an eastern block soldier, RIS rails, which are on all Echo1 AK's, are a no no,

 If you're in the market for a new AK, I'd suggest G&G's RK 47's or 100 series. But there are dozens more out there. I myself recently bought an AKM from Cyma, the version with wood and metal. Initially it was meant as a quick replacement for my broken AK, but all I can say is that I am thoroughly pleased. They don't seem to be the crap company they used to be any more.

I don't think I need a replacement quite yet. I'd rather build up a little than completely replace.
