Please help my M14!!!
« on: October 23, 2008, 04:42:47 PM »
Hey Guys, I noticed that my M14 started just puking the rounds out, they hardly went 15ft...  I thought that it was my Hopup rubber/sleeve, it was spittin' double BB's out.... So I order a new hopup kit from Prometheus(Red) and put it in and it does the same freakin' thing... It seems like I have more than ample air coming out of the reciever when I had the barrel out... Yes the 14 is modified... but has been reliable for thousands of rounds... Any idea which way to go? It is an CA model.I appreciate your input! Salvo

Try takin it into Gearbox and see what Jared (batman) can help you with. You could have a broken air nozzle.... you will still feel air from the end of the gun but nothing comes out. Happened to my CA Scar

I\'ve touched that gun with my hand which had touched my penis. I hope you did not touch your mouth after touching that gun. That would mean your had put part of my penis in your mouth.

OK, Thanks, I'll check that out... I do all my own work, I was just hoping not to have to split the gearbox.... The size spring that I have in it makes it "challenging" to replace... 8)    If it still eludes me I'll run it down there!

OK...... Here's what I found. I pulled the gearbox this morning and found several teeth were chewed on the motor pinion gear, so it(the gun) was going to fail soon anyways... I checked the nozzle and the tappet plate( that is the piece that the air nozzle slips it's groove into isn't it?) and found nothing, no cracks or chips or breaks.....?! The piston seems to have a little extra slop between the o-ring and the cylinder wall, the piston looks great, no chewed teeth I'm using a Systema Area1000 piston head, the o-ring was fine, no cracks or brittleness... I don't know WTF is up with it....! I have at least 15 to 20 thousand rounds thru it with my gearbox in it's present form, I'm going to back down from a 140 spring to a 120 and replace the o-ring and probably the nozzle just because I have it apart. I'll keep the Torque-up gears that I have in it and replace the pinion gear on the Systema Hi-Torque motor and we'll see what happens??? I'm wondering if the pinion gear might have a little something to do with it but I don't really see a correlation between the two...

Hey Guys, I was just glancing at the gearbox again and I happened to see that the anti-reverse spring was broke and laying inside, maybe I'm getting closer....

I had a similiar issue with my Prometheus Red hop up rubber.  After it came highly recommended by a lot of serious modders I was thuroughly disappointed when it didnt deliver.  Switched to the Guarder black hop up rubber in my CA M14 and bam, everything was spot on.
