NC STAR 1x25 Compact Red Dot sight. review.
« on: February 19, 2009, 09:29:38 PM »
Well i recently recieved my order from airsoftgi.com of an Echo 1 P90 and an NC STAR 1x25 Compact Red Dot sight.
first off id just like to say that the gun is great and if your a fan of P90's i highly reccomend getting it. alright back to the sight. well as far as red dot sights go its really not all that special besides its quality for the price.
the whole thing is made out of metal, probably steel, and appears to be really sturdy. there are 2 laser colors to choose from, red and green. each color has a brightness setting on it which is pretty basic. each setting is color coded and numbered 0-3, 0 being off and 3 being the brightest for maybe daytime or nighttime. the whole mounting with its weaver mounts confused the hell out of me for about an hour since im not used to this kind of system. the rail mounts that come with it can be seperated and apparently can only be installed seperate from the sight and the rail that you are trying to put it on. i know that doesnt sound like much but its harder than it looks to install. but its a very good sight. comes with an extra battery other than the one also inside of it. if your looking for a cheap well built red dot sight just drop into www.airsoftgi.com and look up the NC STAR 1x25 Compact Red Dot with Weaver Mount. its only 17 bucks.

Doesn't it just screw on the rail on the P90?

those screws look like they just unscrew and then you set it on the rail.

Im assuming your talking about this P90

and this red dot

Ha yeah thats what i thought at first but you have to unscrew the rail mount just right enough to slip it onto the P90 rail. and then tighten it just enough so they stay then  you can slide the red dot sight on/in them and tighten them up. since the rail mounts arent attached to the sight itself, this made it more difficult for me to install, but i got the hang of it. :D
oh and yes that would be the P90 im talking about
