Here's the reply I got from my US Nightvision rep when I inquired about inexpensive / less expensive NV for airsoft, along with links I've provided so you can see the stuff:

You're correct in that 100 bucks isn't going to buy you anything but a decent daytime optic. Our USNV-143 was designed for paintball/airsoft applications and is available with either a dovetail or weaver mount system. It lists for $449.00 out the door.<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">

Or the unit can be mounted to the gun and positioned behind a ERD sight. This setup would be good out to 40-50 yards, which is about the useful range any most airsoft/paintball guns. Your customer obviously already needs a decent ERD sight. It lists for $389.00 with head mount and soft case. <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">

Anyone wants any of this stuff, I'll take 5% off the list price. However, if 5 or more of you get together for a group buy, I can take 10% off. Now, this doesn't sound like much and, to be honest, it isn't when compared with some other products. However, the margin on NVG is wafer-thin unless you are dealing in distributor-level quantities (usually 20+ on a single item).
Prices don't include Uncle Sam and Aunt Janet's cut (8.1%), though I'll deliver this stuff free in the Phoenix area.
Think it over, let me know.
