Can't really find a whole lot of reviews about these things online and was thinking about possibly getting one. Does anyone here have one or experience with one?

You could always build one out a of an A&K M249 like I am.  Its about the same but mags and parts are easier to get ahold of

A&K m249 - $290
MK46 Rail - $100
Lower Rail - $45
TOTAL - $435

Then add a few extras

A soft side 100rd box mag - $100
Elcan or Acog 0 $ 130

Thats not a MK46, though.

I've heard good things about the G&P MK46, but can't point you towards any particular high points.
You should make a MK48, Matt.  That would be badass.

The only thing I'm missing is the Fluted barrel and its really not worth the money.
Here's mine pretty much done.  I don't think I'm doing anything else to it.

Here's the MK 46 off of the FNH Site.
Different flash hider. Thats the only difference I see

The stock and gas regulation is different.  There are a lot of parts that are skeletonized to lighten them up.  No forward pintle mount hole or M60 legacy pin.  The MK46 also doesn't have 6 rails on the front end, only 3 or 4 depending on if Mod 0 or 1.  Flash hider and barrel are different.  Probably the biggest difference is that a MK46 does not have a M16 magwell and is only belt fed.

That being said, it's not a problem either.  You can get darn close, as you have, without those things.  AZSarge put fluting on his 249 barrel once, and it looked pretty kick-ass too.  Maybe he has some photos.

Nice lookin gun there, Boles.  =D>

With regard to the barrel, I have heard of guys cutting the handle off a short M249 barrel and using it in their Mk46.  It's a bit heavier and you get the advantage of a muzzle brake on the Para barrels.  (Talking about real guns, here).

I'll look to see if I have any pictures of the fluting on my Classic Army LMG barrel, but I doubt I do.

If I were to do it again, I'd use a Para barrel and put the rail "upside down" like on the MOD 1's.

I cut off/milled out alot of stuff on my LMG, and cut off quite a bit of weight!  It was lighter, and balanced better.

I also removed the Para stock, and made a collapsible stock.  This was another thing I took from guys running the real Mk46, and it shaved a few pounds off the overall weight of the gun.

Hey,

I don't have one of these things but one of my buddy's does.  I have owned a couple G&P's including a defender and an enforcer. It is really a great piece of equipment. I would suggest getting the new model with the para stock, looks really cool.
