Mr. Joseph I guess the correct question is how many times do you die a day. I however have ever only gone one day that I have played in every mission and never been hit. So count that times the number of fire fights you're in and actually complete/win the mission. The best games are when you are actually in their lines among them, lop a couple of heads off, complete your objective and never fire a shot. Then after the game(s)the best compliment of your skills is when everyone asks, "Hey I didn't even SEE that game!" Because you know they were looking for you and couldn't do a damn thing about it! I Love This Sport!!!

I have yet to play a full day of airsoft without getting hit myself, and that's largely due to the fact that I just can't sit still!  I am usually in the heat of it and that results in getting hit.
Hector's point is well taken, too.  At LC2, a game I paid a lot of monay to attend, I spent a good 20 minutes of that valuable playing time trying to keep track of Hector and Mark (opposing players at that game) and never was able to get either of them.  That is effective use of time...on their part, anyway.
Most kills in a single game?  17, and here's why.  I was ordered up a friggin' hill by Master Sgt "Mad Dog" at LC2 and told to shoot everything that moved.  I hit 15 opponents from that height before they were able to take me out, and it took the entire 2500 round box mag to do it.  You see, I was using an M249, and that is its function.  An even better question would be kills-to-shots fired ratio.  Mark likely holds that one firmly.
By the way, the other two kills I got in that game were short bursts from the SAW, but bursts just the same.
Just play accordingly with the gun in your hands.  M4s with C mags are G-HEY!  Well placed shots, or shorts bursts, are a better use of your equipment and a better marker of your skills.  ANYONE could have sat on that hill where I was, with my SAW, and gotten at least as many baddies as I did.  They were running right into the laser beam of fire I was putting down.  Did it make me the best player of that game?  I probably got the most kills during that rush.  Nope.  It meant only that I had more rounds at my dispoal than the bad guys did, and a better vantage point than they had.
Kills are not the unit of measure to use, ever.  Effectiveness and mission accomplishments are all that matter.

I definitely agree that is largely due to the BB output.  Simply put, if you can put out enough BB's at a high enough velocity, no one can get close, period.  Back when I was going through a good bag of BB's or more per game (ie refilling my c-mag from empty during breaks), I fired at evrything until it stopped moving.  Consequently, I got a TON of kills and had a record of about 2 or 3 consecutive game days where I never took a BB... that was because I laid out a killing field in every direction.  I was shooting at 400 fps, so only those close to 400 could even contend (I made sure to keep the high ground and had some good teammates spotting and watching my flanks and rear), but the few that did have 400 fps were limited by mag changes.  There is certainly a huge advantage to sitting behind a BB stream.  and for the people I couldn't kill outright, I kept their heads down until someone else could take em out.  Was it fun?  only the first time.  It really wasn't a trial of skill, but rather how long until my c-mag ran out.  So, if your only objective is kills, get a big fat c-mag, a ton of bb's, and teammates that are willing to watch your back for you.   Since then, I have switched to standards and occasionally hi-caps (when mike won't lend me his standards ;-) and it is a lot more fun.  It goes from being about how long you can hold the trigger to how well you can work in a group.  Sure, I die more often and I get fewer kills, but it gives me an incentive to play harder.  When I'd just lay on the c-mag, I could gloat about 30+ kills in day (depending on size and missions), but I don't think my team mates appreciated it and it really didn't involve any tactics or thinking on my part.  I agree that if all it was was sneaking around, I probably wouldn't play either- we wouldn't need guns.  You have the most fun because of the people you are with and when all the other elements mesh together in a fun balance.

<blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote">I concur, brother.

It will help us re-evaluate how we play, and hopefully help us have more fun and play more "realistically" in the process. Keeping in mind the whole time that a few shots is all thats necessary to kill someone, not a full high-cap on full auto. On the other hand, while I do not like full auto, and choose not to play that way for the sake of realism (auto has its moments, though), I do enjoy the sound and intensity of it. In any real intense firefight, automatic fire will be needed for suppression. Being in a firefight, even with plastic bb's, and hearing full auto fire either coming my way or fired from teammates get the old red cells pumping in a hurry!
<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote"> I also concur.

I dont really like getting sprayed at with full auto by a person until they hit me. I enjoy the greatness of semi, I only go to full auto to support. And only having a stock gun, every shot counts to me and I make sure it will only take 1 or 2 to the person I am shooting at. Not a streaming line of 10 bbs  to all hit me at the same time. And also its hard to call your self dead using the "wound" rules when you get hit by 10 bbs all in one spray. I also like the way of saving bbs only using semi having only gone through only 3 or 4 mags in a day and sill getting as many kills as the person who went through 15. I dont count how many people I kill, Im to focused on the mission and having fun.

Pain is your friend, it lets you know you are still alive. Over coming pain is just a question of mind over matter, if you dont mind, it dont matter.

« Reply #26 on: October 09, 2003, 05:39:53 PM »
Whats the most kills that anyone has gotten in one game.  Actual kills, no exageration.  Just curious...I got 11 kills in the first AA game.  I know that was the best that day.
