Customs and Mock Siliencers
« on: May 16, 2009, 05:21:21 PM »
Ok everyone, here's the snag.
I'de like to order the Element PBS-1 Silencer from WGC Shop.
http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.ph ... A_srch_pbs
My one concern I have, however, is customs.
Will customs sieze this product?
Is there any advice you can give to help it get across the border easier?
Is there any reason for me to be concerned in the first place?

Thanks,
-Brian

Is it foamed filled? I believe in the US it supposed to be solid but I do not believe customs will do anything to it.

A tip for getting things from HK is ask the retailer to declare it as a gift and its supposed to pass through easier.

I've also seen guns with no orange tip go through customs by simply covering them in foil (Ebaybanned...).

We have a friend doing some mission work(medical i think) in columbia. We mailed him some things and gift wraped them and declared them as a gift and it still got opened, but ive ordered from WGC a few times and the stuff has been fine. Usually for trademarks they will put some wax type stuff over it which just peels off, Ive even geard people say they just cover it up with black tape.

Hmmm thats what a retailer in HK told me to do if i buy from them... guess it doesnt work all the time.

Reminded me of the time i went to vietnam. Just gave the custom guy some money to get some bootleg stuff over and had no problems ha!

also if it has trades, just ask them to cover it with black wax instead of having them grind it off.

Good to know everyone!
Highly appreciate the responses.

I've heard some stories that as long as you ask them to remove the foam and label the box clearly as "TOY," customs will let it pass through easily.
Just was wondering if there was an easier way then stripping the sil haha!
And to my assumption, I think it is lined with foam.

Anyways, last question, what is this "ebaybanned" website??
I've never heard of it and they have the PBS-1 silencer I was looking for for 50 bucks shipped!
Sounds good to me even if it is coming from overseas.

EDIT: Ignore question about ebaybanned.com. Found answers via search haha!
