Finally home.
« on: May 16, 2009, 10:18:29 PM »
after 14 weeks of training, Basic and AIT in one straight shot, I'm finally home. It was awesome, I loved the training, and I picked the best MOS in the Army. 21B, Combat Engineer. I'm a sapper, and I wouldn't want anything else...I just don't know how I agreed to enlist for 6 years with no bonus haha! it was worth it. Soon, after some serious PT and a couple promotions, I'll go get my Sapper tab from the Leadership course.

it's good to be home. All i have to do is get a new AEG (because I sold mine before I left) and get onto the fields...

Good to hear you're back, Grayson.

Where'd you do Basic?

I did an OSUT at fort Leonard Wood. 14 weeks of the same drill sergeants, same 50 dudes in my platoon (zero females), same barracks. I'm glad to be done haha!

thanks for the warm welcome!

and about training, basic was packed into 8 weeks, and the other 4 was 21B AIT, the last week was cleaning weapons, TA50 and the barracks. I still feel like I have a lot to learn even though I already learned a lot. Im excited to get to my unit.

9 month IET? that sucks. whats your MOS?

I had to go through OSUT as well, but mine was a total of 17 weeks. I know you 21 Bravos get to have a bunch of fun in AIT, I got two in my platoon. Yall are no good when it comes to building stuff though...
