red dot on top of ironsights

does anyone know where I can get a red dot sight that will go ontop of the ironsight carring handle of an M4?

You could just get a mount base that attaches to the carry handle.

My only question is - why?

NcStar makes red dots and mounts that go on the carry handle.

Or if you have a railed flat-top receiver, you can get an acog replica with integrated iron sights on top.

because i need a sight that is raised up so it can see over my front sight post, like in the military they have a spacer that goes under the red dot sight to raise it up.

You can get the rail that attaches to the carry handle or you can get the riser as well. I've seen both at Gearbox
