Hey guys I noticed that when you get a PM the site doesn't send you an email notification any longer.

I just sent you a test PM, did you get a notification?

nope

Check and make sure its still set to email you, updating phpbb may have changed your preferences. You may have already checked this, I don't know, but thought I'd throw it in there just in case it was something simple.

User Control Panel -> Board preferences -> Edit global settings -> Notify me on new private messages -> Yes

Not sure if it is just me, but whenever I click on "View active topics," the only post listed is this site maintenance one. It use to.... well, display all the most current active topics. It was nice to use if I wasn't at home and wanted to check the forums without logging
in.

I've tried all the view links at the top of the page and they all seem to be functioning normally.

Clear your cookies and cache, manually log out of the forums, then restart your browser.

Did as you said but to no avail. Whether I am logged in or not, that "View Active Topics" link just lists this post.

Well, I just resynced some data and deleted the search indexes and that didn't appear to help.  I'll have to do some more digging on this.  Are you having issues with any of the other similar functions (IE View unanswered post/View new post) or is it just the active topics?

Ok, looks like I just figured it out.  Basically an option for each forum wasn't set because we moved from an old version of phpbb3 which had a bug with the active topics.  I'm going in manually and resetting each forum.  They should be working right now.

Hi, I checked all settings for myself, and everything is set to email me on a PM but, as with others, I get nothing as well.

Email MAY be working right now.  I'm sending PM's to the next few people I see on.  Let me know if you get an email notification.

Edit:  I've got one confirmation that users are receiving email.  CBDennis, I sent you a PM as well, let me know if you got an email on it.

Edit 2:  Everyone I sent PM's to have confirmed they got an email, so it appears to be fixed.  If you have receive a PM that was sent after 12/30/10 and do NOT receive an email notification, please let me know.

Xavier,
I received a PM notification, not from you but just in general. And about topic threads.

Is there a signature size restriction now? I went to change mine and now it says it has to be 150p or less.

Yes, there is a signature size restriction now.  Some people on here were getting a little ridiculous with the size of the signature banners.  Its set to 700x150, which should be plenty accomodating for everyone to work with.  There is really no reason they need to be any larger.

finally!

as far as the email notifications that were being discussed last month, i have been getting emails every time i get a PM and they actually seem to be "on-time". before the move it would lag anywhere from an hour to a day after i received the PM
