g&g acting wierd
« on: July 11, 2011, 12:24:35 AM »
my g&g gr 15 blowback raider that ive bought couple months back is acting up. as i am shooting single shot simaltuniously, it begans to shoot automatic or a burst of bbs and stops firing. after that happens, my motor gets burning hot, so does my battery. ive went through two batteries dat blew up. the gun is completely stock and i use a 9.6v nunchuck battery.

i have taken it to gearbox, and they were awesome. they took time out of there schedule to try to fix my gun buy replacing the motor. check for wiring and no kinks in it. i think i mite be explaining the problem wrong to them. not saying anything bad bout gearbox, they coo as heck.

just wandering if anyone has had dis problem or have a idea or solution to dis problem. hate to have this happen in my first game. thanks....

i had the exact same problem, G&G motors in their plastic body series do get hot, its just a fact, but it shouldnt impede in your guns usage, mine fired bursts on semi and i sent mine back into airsoft gi and they reshimmed the gears and fixed the trigger contacts and now it runs smoothly

I've got a g&g g4a3 which has the same gearbox and just took it apart for a spring change and notices what would be the problem. In the gearbox there are these thred gold piecec which control the fire modes and they tend to shift. What you need to to do is re shim it. A good shim should fix your problem. I wouldn't recommend taking the gearbox apart because u have to take th blowback piston off and also like a version 3 gearbox there is a meteal slide that holds the gearbox to gether that almost take two people to do. And I forgot to mention the wiring in the gearbox is loose and may be bumping the gears causing this. And I also noticed that after about 10 to 15 thousand rounds your piston shatters but otherthan that the gearbox is pretty good. I hope this helps
