I can't get my hop up bucking on with out it bunching up.
« on: July 06, 2011, 05:21:19 PM »
I need help, I can't seem to get my hop bucking on correctly every time I put it on the barrel and slide it into the hop up housing it bunches up making it not accurate and the bbs fly out randomly.
I'm using a blue hop bucking(don't know the brand) and a TBB, i have heard that the TBB's are slightly larger in diameter so this may be the problem if so what can I do?
I've tried oiling the ruber but it didn't help.

i'v heard of heating up some water not like boiling or anything, but tossing the hopup in that to get it to expand can help.
iv never tryed it though.

Oh sorry the bucking fits fine on the barrel I just can't get it into the hop up chamber, that's when it bunches up.

Also I forgot to mention that this is a M4 hop up.

talc powder or a little bit of silicone lube on the outside of the bucking.

Have you taken a razor blade to the corners of the bucking? I've had a few that had some excess rubber, and after trimming it some, it solved that issue.

i ment the entire m4 hopup in some Mildly hot water to get it to expand, and give it a shot after that. not the bucking

like hot enought that you cant stick ur hand in there, but not hot enough to melt it. if it was plastic.

I have that problem a lot with hopups.

What i do is oil everything alot, then start to slowly push the barrel in. if it starts to bunch pull it out a lil and then slowly push it in again. if it gets stuck slowly turn the barrel back and forth while pushing.

It will take a few times but when you finally get it in make sure the lips of the hop up aren't bunched up and put a bb in to see if it sticks.

if your having trouble getin the hopup in that is good because you will get very good air seal if everythings really tight

good luck
