There is an M1928A1 conversion kit for the Thompson, but I don't think there is any drum mag to go along with it.

Well, I am sicilian, and my grandfather carried one in WWII, plus it probably holds 800 rounds.  Never heard of one huh?

Film noir is a genre/style/series of american films made during WWII. They are very grim stories about the underworld usually taken from pulp fiction. The germans banned the showing of US films in france during the war so right after ve-day, most of the films that had been made for the past few years opened in Paris. The french noticed a drastic change in the american style/content of films. So film noir ("black film" in french) is a phrase coined by french film critics to describe these specific films.

Many film noirs involve gangsters or private investigators and thus involve "tommy guns."

Joseph- if you are going for a WWII look, then I think that stick mags would be more appropriate. I don't think the military used drums as much as gangsters back home did.

I didnt think they used them at all, however, I did see Nicholas Cage with one in the beginning of Windtalker.  I will stick to the stick mags, but if I could get a drum that holds 800 rounds or so, I would buy one.

They probally did use them in the War, but They were using the older 1928 model that had the drum mags and Ive read that the drums were prone to jamming due to getting dirt in them.  The newer model the 1938 model I believe used the stick mags and had less occurances of jamming.  At the very least the 1938 model was more widely used than the 1928 model in WWII.  But I could be wrong, I have no facts to back that up at the moment.
