Big Backyard Game?
« on: July 19, 2012, 09:55:33 AM »
Hey everybody,
My friends and i had an epic idea... Since my team goes to 5 diffrent fields, some big and some small, we thought: how awsome would it be if the AA community or at least those intrested had a giant backyard game? would anyone be intrestead in that at all?

For this to work for the aa crowd it would have to be held on a large piece of private property away from view of the public.
Or find the people that would play and do an invite only kind of thing. other wise this is going to get shut down really fast. Most of the older crowd here won't do back yard style games because of the leagle problems that could arise from playing where the public can see.

If you want cops and SWAT teams rolling up fully drawn and hot, then go ahead. Otherwise, I suggest you forget the idea. Unless  you have the express (maybe even written) permission of the property owner, then we can't do it. Plus, the owner would need to be aware of what would be happening, they might want to be present and they might not be too interested in thousands of plastic bbs littering their land. Honestly, if you could secure private land away from the public eye, i'm quite sure we'd all be very interested.

The National Forests are our "backyard".
Playing anywhere in the Valley at anyone's house in just asking for broken windows, cops, angry neighbors, cops, crowded street full of strange cars, cops, big liability problems, cops, and, did I mention getting arrested and/or possibly shot by (wait for it) ..cops.

The issue on private land is always the same, you need to have insurance. My family has land by queen valley that would be great for playing, but we don't want any responsiblity when it come to strangers playing. Especially youth. Even have a hard time with my close friends playing. But if its away from the public, safe,  and you believe no one will sue, knock you self out.

Just don't do it. Pay some money and join a milsim event. They're way more fun.

It is fairly secluded, I go there all the time. usually we have 12-15 go there, it's at a dirt bike track that almost is never used, even when their are dirt bikers, they have 2 tracks and never create a comotion about it. But i can already see the wind on the idea with everyone else. just an idea

You guys probably shouldn't do that. If you hit a dirt biker on accident and took his eye out while he's grabbing a drink, or doing something where his helmets off then he WILL sue you and he WILL win the case and airsofting will take a major blow. They're trying to ban it in Cali as we speak. We need to be really careful and toe the line! I applaud you for taking the initiative and trying to set something up, but it can't be done at this point.

Is this "dirt bike track" you speak of located off of Sarival and Camelback Rd?

I think you get the general consensus from the folks here on AA. Don't do it.
