Serious question. How could you pass a law to ban/register airsoft guns? Without using an airsoft gun as a blunt beating object, how could you kill someone with it? Furthermore has anyone ever died from an airsoft gun related injury? Would this ban/registration be solely based off the fact that airsoft guns resemble real fire arms?
OOO no.
This one comes in much more subtly.
The ban comes in the form of public nusance, or more often, as public safety, "Brandishing", or "Save the childrens"
Innocent poor children with scary black toy assault rifles.
1. Same as the video game attacks we see - "Teaches Kids to be Killers"
2. Identification - "Police responding to a crime may not know if a gun is fake, or Real"
3. Public gets scared when they see a pack of "heavily armed Gorilla Isis terror troop insurgent coyotes" taking over the local park. And calls the cops.
4. Little Timmy - whos parents have to work all day, and gave him his m4 walmart toy because they want him to feel loved and feel bad about not spending time with him, TERRORIZES the neighborhood, no neighbors plants/cats/kids/windows/car goes unscathed.
5. The tolerance for these nuisance calls wanes, and stores are forced to ban these items.
6. John is pulled over. After the cop looks in his trunk and the pile of machine assault pistol scary death rifles, John is subjected to a full swat lockdown on his car, detained until it is all sorted out.
1. If they are kids toys, Why aren't they painted like nerf guns?
2. If you don't want they painted bright happy colors, why not? Do you want them to look like real guns and terrify the public?
I Typed this one really on the fly, but, the case to get this stuff banned is not hard. I am not a lawyer, just a player, and I can come up with 15-20 scenarios for a legitimate ban on our sport.
Realistically, while we have the fun, and love what we do, there is a SIGNIFICANT threat to this sport, and 99% of it comes from the stupidity of others.
If I could turn back the clock to 1997 Airsoft, I would.
