"Deleting" Posts
« on: September 27, 2005, 10:12:16 PM »
It has been brought to my attention that some of you are bothered by a few recent posts that have been moved to the Moderator area ("deleted" as you all see it).

Let me make a few statements, not as an official AA Mod, but as azsarge.

1.  Any post that was moved was done so because it was detrimental to the forums in one way or another.  Argumentative, overly negative, off-topic, or simply non-pertinent.

2.  Any post that has been moved is available at any time to be reinstated to it's original thread by any of the other mods.  Nothing is ever deleted for good.

3.  Don't ever bother to ask, "Who deleted my post?"  If it's gone, it's because it was Moderated.  All the Mods work together to keep our forums civil, and more importantly, PRODUCTIVE!  There are other forums where you can BS, argue, and discuss things that lead to bickering.  AA is the place to go to discuss games, gear, guns, and shoot the sh*t with your friends.  It's not the place to argue or be negative.

4.  The Mods do not hold any grudges, nor do they discriminate.  I for one will move anything that falls into the above category, no matter who posted it.  I even move my own stuff sometimes!

5.  If you find that one of your posts has been moved, don't lose any sleep over it.  The right thing to do is to re-post it with a more concise point, and most of the time we will allow it.

6.  Remember, the Mods are here to make the forums better, so have confidence that these forums are getting better every day.  We have many new users and are viewed nationally!

If you ever have any questions, feel free to contact me via PM.  If you have a disagreement, let me know and I will attempt to resolve the issue.

Thank you,
azsarge

I delete many items all the time.  Most of them are the one-off "yeah, what he said" or something similar.  If it doesn't add to the discussion and I see it, it WILL get deleted.  Other times post may start to get serioulsy off topic and several post in a thread will get deleted or just moved to its own thread.

Like azsarge said, the mods do not hold any grudges, nor do they discriminate.  No one gets "picked on" by the mods.  I know that I do not always read everything, so some stuff may get passed over now and then.
If anyone who may be reading something that they may feel might need a moderators attention feel free to PM us.

I wanted to hit on this again, because its come up a few times lately.  I delete, on average, probably 6-7 posts a day because they're either completely out of place and off topic or they're a non pertinent post in the classified ad area.

If you're not buying or selling something or asking a question about the items listed, don't post.

If you're posting something specifically to someone else and the rest of us won't be informed/intrigued/etc by it, send a PM instead of posting.
