***I thought some of you would find this interesting. If anyone else has a survey conducted at their college it would be interesting to see their results as well. The source document is not accessible to people who are not in the ERAU online community so I just pasted the text here. And yes, there are about 4 to 5 male students for every female student (see bold below).***

ERAU Voter Poll Results

Volunteers from the Prescott Campus participated in an online voter survey from Tuesday, October 26 – Sunday, October 31. This survey was non-scientific.

Results:
245 Participants
 5% Faculty
 14% Staff
 80% Students

 23% Female
 75% Male

91% plan to vote or have already voted

64% are voting for a president for the first time

59% support George Bush
35% support John Kerry
 3% support another candidate
2% support Ralph Nader

The most important issue to ERAU survey respondents is deciding their vote is security.
28% are most concerned about security
21% are most concerned about the economy
18% are most concerned about another issue
17% are most concerned about social issues
14% are most concerned about Iraq

While ERAU ranked security as their number one issue the economy is also very important the survey shows a virtual tie in the importance of the economy to voters.

51% of respondents ranked the economy as the 1st or 2nd most important issue
51% or respondents ranked security as the 1st or 2nd most important issue

Social issues received the lowest rating of the listed issues, followed closely by Iraq
31% of respondents rank social issues as the 1st or 2nd most important issues
38% of respondents rank Iraq as the 1st or 2nd most important issue

24% of respondents listed “otherâ€￾ as the 1st or 2nd most important factor in deciding their vote. The survey did not ask for more detailed response.
