Umm..an IDF vest will run you upwards of 3-400 dollars...

Actually, my friend Eli sells gear out of Tel Aviv from the companies that supply the IDF for 200.00 USD.  If you don't want to go modular, these vest store tons of gear.  Creed on SWAIRTAC bought one from Eli last year.  It is illeagal to sell the actual gear that the IDF uses, but this is from two of the companies:

He has another with a buiult in hydration bladder that is really nice too.  My favorite is the paramedic vest.   They have a lot of pouches and load bearing capibility...

Yeah, I've seen the stuff Tim has for sale...Eli doesn't have as much over head due to the fact he's in Israel.

Check this out:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 56240&rd=1

It shows pictures of the vest from different angles...

This would be perfect for that LCIV boot camp...has anyone actually worn one of these?  Zion?  Creed?

Illegal to sell the actual gear the IDF uses?  News to me...I buy directly from Erez, one of the suppliers to the IDF.

The A-11 is the only item of theirs I carry that would come close to the $100 mark.

Followed the links above and I'll have to check if they make the EPHOD, etc., in tan now.  I could have it done if I submit an order of 100+ units, but not individually.  I'll have to check into it.

One thing to keep in mind when ordering overseas is the shipping as you well know, but also potential customs duties.  I've not had it happen yet, but it is a possibility.

Besides, with me, you can get it in about 2 days. :)

Well I knew that it would cost extra coin of the pouches but not THAT much! I'll be using it for two things really. Airsoft and backpacking for things I need to have quick like rain pancho or map and compass. I was also looking into getting IDF vest.

Do yourself a favor and DON'T use tac vests for backpacking. Its extra weight, extra heat retention, and (unless you do serious backpacking alot) you will tend to bring way more than what you need in all the "goody" pouches. Get a good pack instead, with lots of outside pockets for accessibility. Tactical vest are for . . . well . . . tactical situations when speed can literally mean the difference between life and death. Unless you are planning to go on a more "adventurous" (aka being shot at) backpacking trip, its not worth it.

Well, just going by what my team mate Zion (formally IDF), what is available to the public is different that what he's used...but I guess Deltal has a great point....
