Spell checkers don't account for poor grammar skills like sentence structure, merely spelling. If you want to check for sentence structure, type your post up in Word Perfect version whatever. They usually pick out fragments and stuff like that.

The point is that you guys that have posted here so far, studdermonkey, firehead, busta, trashcan, etc are the ones he is talking about when he talks of "youngins".  You do not need to get upset by being that, because you are younger than the rest of us.  You guys need to understand exactly what we dislike here.  It's not the 1337 speak, the "hm" topic titles, or even the poor grammr most of you have.  It is the very meterial you post!

For example, stud's post above about getting pissed off about a thread title.  Come on!  Get pissed because others are posting trash that they don't even mean.  I may post trash alot, but I mean it and have thought it over beforehand.  Some of you younger guys post harsh things to get our attention so we will say "Good job for busting that noob!" or give you a pat on the back.  Be real and be yourself.  You don't need to kiss our ass, or get angry because a new guy makes the same mistakes you made as a newbie!

No, I was pissed because I knew it was going to be a stupid thread and get off topic like what it's already done. I know, I helped.. but it was inevitable ;-)

And as for me being a youngin, I know. Like I said, I can handle people thinking less of me just a bit and so on. I know it happens, even if you say it doesn't. It's the guilt by assosciation that other people bring. And as I said, I can wait till 18 to be in the forum if it means not having topics like this and having to get out of hand. If there was a poll, I'd vote against having "us" here.

I've been here not too long, but it seems like the crappy threads are arriving by the minute now, and that's what pisses me off. And I'll repeat it, the "hm" thread is a great example and that's why I was pissed.

Sorry if I'm not making too much sense, I'm sicker than a friggin dog at the moment.. I just hope I'm good in time for the game.

Oh, and firehead, I know you were kidding, but I'm not kissing up.. if they banned me till may 7, I wouldn't be in the least bit mad. It's 100% understandable.

You can't stop people from posting stupid stuff. You can crack down and what not, but the problem will still be there. I am a noob I admit. I joined this forum to learn more about airsoft and get to know some people in the community. I have made some threads that some of you think are dumb or "don't belong on an airsoft forum." But I think that some of the questions (theological or political) I raise are important (agree?). I don't post much on airsoft topics because I would have no idea what the hell I'm talking about! When my dad gets back from Iraq, we'll come and play with you guys, but for now I'm too young to attend and don't have the right equipment. I have good grammar (agree?), but my spelling sucks! I use Word to correct spelling and it works fine for me. Just out of curiosity, what is my reputation like around here?

P.S. I realize that my avatar is cool, but doesn't really fit. I'm getting a new one (someday).

I think you try a little too hard to fit in around here. Just be yourself and not what you think everyone else wants you to be.

1. Ok this is funny. When I saw the original post for this thread, and read the first few messages, I sort of assumed that MH stood for something and that I was juts a noobie and didn't know what it means.

2. Having been involved with several "multi generational" hobbies, I feel it is the responsibility of us older players to model proper conduct for the younger players so removing them from the forums I think would be like taking a kid out of school because they are failing. It has been my experience, that many parents allow/support their childrens' involvment in such MG activities because of what we older players have to offer interms of socialization.

3. I could  go on at length about the actual psychology that is going on here but I don't think anyone wants to read a mster's thesis on the subject.

4. For the younger players please don't get offended by anything I say.

No one should be offended by what you said! I agree with your statement!

Younger players can and should set a good example as well.

I think that by posting, even if it seems in your opinion to be crap. It however, helps other players to get a better understanding of your personality. When you dont always get to meet them.  You find are they freindly, or have an attitude, or to over dominent and protective ect ect... I am looking at it from a Soc. or Psy point of veiw.

I've met alot of airsofters who act like a wolf on the forums, only to find them to be a sheep in person.

There is an exception to every rule, and an explanation for that. I did not say that it was carved in stone.
