Well, you need to keep us posted here dude!

One of the things that makes that clip a class act was the atmosphere!  The lighting, both natural and artificial, was fantastic, as was the editing.  I know it was just a trailer, but I can tell that you guys have a passion for it.

The end result should be quite exciting!

I take it you've never fired blanks before, busta.

Not that cool.  No muzzle flash, and only as loud as a cap gun.

This trailer was done when we probably only had 1/4 of the filming done - if even that much. We had more problems with those dang GI blanks for our M16's! If you got through a whole clip without a hiccup you were blessed by God himself. Heck, if you could get them to cycle the weapon consecutively you were lucky. We used hollywood adaptors (the ones that fit inside your flash hider) but I'm pretty sure that the problem was under-powered blanks. Oh well. The funny thing is, for the M1A, we used british blanks with a blank adaptor and they worked great EVERY time! Just remember, too - this film was done in our spare time, almost solely with a budget that came from two people's pocketbooks (myself and one other buddy), with very little outside, professional help. My buddy (Mike Damitio) and I produced it, funded 90% of it, wrote the screenplay and script - we have absolutely no experience with stuff like this prior to this project. What you will see is basically put together by a bunch of Seniors in high school and Freshman in college. Only one main character in the film has had any real acting experience, the rest are just friends and people we dragged into it! On a final note, there are some distinct differences in the way this film was shot as opposed to a Hollywood film. Basically, its half documentary, half film. Our goal in this was not so much to create an "action flic", but rather to show, to the best of our knowledge and ability, the average guy in Vietnam. This film is a dedication to the vets. Please realize I'm not bragging here, just warning you guys before you get too hyped up about it :D !

As for a show date, like I said, hopefully sometime right before or after the beginning of summer (most of the cast is gone to various colleges around the US and it'd be nice to get everyone here for the first showing). It'll be shown down here in Tucson (at least initially), but I'll make sure a few copies get sent up to Phoenix, etc. Feel free to ask questions and I'll do my best to answer them.

Depends on the blanks. For GI blanks, you're completely correct. However, The "hot" blanks that most movies use nowadays can make a pretty good boom as well as muzzle flash. They're also REALLY expensive ($40 for 100 rds not even including shipping!). Still, in hindsight, I wish we would have used them.

Filming is complete (well - we might throw in a few goodies still :D ). We only used Agua Caliente for 2 days, other than that, we used LOTS of other places. Like I said, the trailer doesn't show much of the "cooler" stuff. We had to be way out in the boonies on private land so we could do explosions and large amounts of smoke without having the cops come out! By the way, how'd your filming go the other day? On another note, DO NOT use agua caliente for filming without obtaining the proper permission and permits - we were able to get them free of charge in with about a 1 week wait-time.

EDIT: Additional info
