USAF EOD vs. Italy: Last weekend
« on: March 25, 2005, 04:51:57 AM »
So my shop here at Aviano AB, Italy has gotten into Airsoft.  About 16 of us have purchased various TM/OA AEGs and sidearms.  We've played a few times amongst ourselves but last weekend was the first time that we played against an actual team.  The team we played against has been playing for around 5 years or so, so needless to say, they had their shit much more together than we did.  Oh yeah, this was the DarkHawk team www.darkhawk.it .

The first game I missed because my wife and I were running late but the second game was crazy.  We mixed it up so that a few Italians were on with us and vice versa.  It was crazy.  We played an attack and defend scenario with a flag that the offending team had to get.  The third game was pure bloodbath; EOD versus them.  We got our asses kicked, but was hella fun.  We defended the flag and pretty much got slaughtered.  I took position on the roof of an old building and laid supporting fire with my G36K (I think it's a K now, with the longer barrel and handguard).  I ended up taking one guy out but two guys flanked me and nailed me.

I could go on and on, but I'll keep it relatively short.  It was a good time and we learned a lot.  We're going to play them on 3 April, 3 days before I leave to come to Arizona.  We're going to play them on their turf so we'll probably get slaughtered even worse.  Hell yeah!

Here are two of my teammates:

My man, Josh.

Here are two pictures of both teams: (I'm the guy all the way on the left in the first pic, kneeling down)

That's me.

Already did. ;)

We had a combat camera man out there with a DVD camcorder.  Yesterday he put the DVD together including an intro screen, button menu and the title screen menu music is the music from Terminator 3.  It's really, really cool.  Once I get out to some games in Arizona, I'll bring my laptop out so you can see.

Red Xs?  Hmmm, my image uploader (www.njsr.org) is a damn reliable one.  Maybe it was just temporarily down?

Oh, and if you want to see more pics, go to http://gidrow.net/gallery/Maniago1 .  I can upload more if people desire.  I have a metric assload of pics. :)

I am Italian, got anything to say now? Italians will kick your a$$! Besides, Beretta is the oldest and finest gun making company in the world. When I go this summer I am gonna check out the Firearms manufacturing faciility, the original and the newer ones. Some of the most accurate and finest rifles have been hand made their. Wasn't the rifle that JFK was shot with Italian? Sorry if that pisses anyone off, but It's something I have heard before and wondering if its true, I gotta say though, that guy made one hell of a shot.
