Easiest component to upgrade?
« on: March 31, 2005, 11:28:32 PM »
OK so my CA m15a4 clocked at 330 out of the box. That is very nice but I am eager to push it up a little bit. I am NOT eager to screw up my gun. So what parts are the easiest to upgrade that will also push the FPS up a bit?

That would be your spring. Its a really simple upgrade that most Classic Armys can handle.

I second that.

Throw an M120 or PDI 170 in there and you're GTG.

Actually, the easiest would be a tightbore barrel. I'm afraid of cracking open CA mechboxes.

True, the inner-barrels are easy to install, and don't include rippin the gearbox apart. It'll up the FPS just a tad, but hardly-next to none noticeable. The real question is, what's the quickest worthy and will up the FPS upgrade... which is always taking apart the gearbox, so they're all the same.. all not quick.

As I look back at my post, and see it doesn;t match the topic.. I say..

replace quick with easy.

time for bed,

Well I say if your going to crack open the mech box, put in all the parts that you want in it now and not later.  As I have heard John say that the less you open your gear box the better.  Plus it makes sense because its not a quick thing to do, so why not only have to do it once.  I put in a silent piston head set.  The thing about CA's is that alot of things are all ready upgraded, like metal gears, bushings, ect.  The only other thing I might have wanted to put in my gun after retrospect is a srping guide with bearings.  I believe that is what it is, it allows the spring to be able to untwist in your gun as with out one the srping could twist up and you could lose some FPS after time.  That is about it.
