Chinook crash
« on: July 01, 2005, 07:03:38 AM »
Good friend of mine, ex 160th Blackhawk pilot was close friends with the eight crew members on the Chinook that got shot down in Afghanistan. Apparently they were a victim of either a planned barrage of RPG's or possibly an SA-18. This Independence Day let's all say a prayer for them and the eight SEAL's who died. And even though it may not be Christian let's hope the SOFT community succeeds in their renewed efforts in that region to wipe out the assholes who did this.
God bless them and God bless America

RIP

My brother in law is a crew chief on a Blackhawk and flies with these guys in the 12th aviation brigade in Germany.  I spoke to my sister who said that rumors were circulating on base before it hit the press.

We need to just let our guys get the job done and quit trying to fight a PC war...do what has to be done and get the hell out.  My condolences to you Wood and the families of these heroes....

A tragic day indeed. I don't personally know them Woody but pass on my wife and mine's condolences.

I have a close friend who will be deploying to Afghanistan soon. Not sure how I would feel if it happened to him.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Tell your friend that our thoughts are with all our forces over seas.

Jim will appreciate all you guys' thoughts. I think the memorial is Monday. I'll phone him and pass on our prayers.
