I'd gladly switch to the Bio ones if I had a source.  Can you point me in the direction of a good honest source for them?  So far, I've just been getting stuff from JT.  Two related questions: what is the heaviest they come in (thinking for sniper applications,) and is there any way we can petition JT to carry them?

Order the Bio's from www.evike.com .. I would rather have 5,000 bb's for 11.99 than 1700 for 11.99... Heres my opinion: Bb's will probably get churned up, buried, mixed around and so on for so long that the earth will eventually eat them... I don't remember that we had to use a certain type of bb's at LC...

As far as honestly Reaver, unless im walking ALL OVER bb's at an op... you can go ahead and keep wasting your money on "bios" that haven't been proven to be bio friendly..infact on arnies a while back they proved they dont decay any faster... ;)

Reaver, I have never been to a big OP that restricted my BB use.  AA has rules that state only excel BBs can be used because it says they are biodegradable on the bag.  I would hardly call an AA game a big OP.

Which out-of-state OPs have you been to that they told you what kind of ammo to use?

I wouldn't call AA gatherings a big op either.  I'm referring to something like LC4 or Crimson Dunes.  I don't know if the LC4 people were sticklers for requiring bio's.  A lot of other bio op sites I've seen in the past also require it (usually because of the land they are playing on).

We at D.E.D are concerned with the implications of BB’s on the US ecosystem. It has come to our attention that the VSAF has completed independent lab test proving that the Bioval BB’s are the only 100% Biodegradable BB. D.E.D would like to thank VSAF and Peter Davidson for the data provided. That Lab test results provided have not been alter and are carbon copy of findings provided by the VSAF.

For some while now there has been confusion regarding Airsoft BBs biodegradability and the implications they have on our environment. This is of course a big concern for VSAF and some time ago we decided to try bring some clarity towards this issue. Lab tests are, however, very expensive and at first it did not appear as if we could row this one ashore. With some luck, however, we found Borealis and Inger at their department of biochemical testing, who completed four test for us all free of charge!

We want to thank Jonas and Patrik Arronsson who provided us with the contact and Inger L Olvmo at Borealis who conducted the test for us. A big thank you. We hope to be able to continue working with this issue and provide airsoft players with information enabling them to chose what is best for our Hobby and our environment.

4 TYPES OF BB's TESTED

    1.Excel [0.20]
    2.Excel BIO [0.20]
    3.Biotech [Bioval - 0.20]
    4.Cyber Gun [0.20]

NO detectable amounts of the following elements where found in any of the samples: V, Cl, Cu, Fe, Zn, Ni, Cr.

XRF-analsies show that:

    · Samples EXCEL, EXCEL BIO, & CYBER GUN contain large amounts of BaSO4 - Barium Sulphate; a compound found in plastic that doesn't beak down in our environment.

    · The sample BIOTECH contain >10% CaCO3 – potassium bicarbonate.

    1. BIOTECH consists of starch and potassium bicarbonate.

    2. EXCEL and EXCEL BIO consists of styrene and Barium Sulphate

    3. Cyber Gun consists of a [akrylnitril-styrene-sampolymer] and Barium Sulphate

COMMENT: The conducted tests show that the sample called Biotech also known as "Bioval BB's" are the ONLY environmentally biodegradable BB. Biotech BB's are a made of easily degradable components. The sample Excel & Cyber Gun BB's: All containing the compound styrene and are not biodegradable.

Actually, true bio's DO degrade faster because they aren't made out of full plastic.  Instead, it's a thin plastic coating over compressed wheat or rock dust.  That's a real bio-degradeable BB.  A NON-Biodegradable BBs it takes around 4-5 years for the BB's to breakdown when exposed to the elements. For Biodegradable BBs it takes anything from 2 months to a year for the BBs to breakdown.  Hence the reason why bio's are preffered at Op's (especially when it's not thier land).  You also put forward a more responsible and proffessional perception when you say that you prefer to use Bio's.  :)

Hey Busta.  Can you provide the link?  The images were a little hard to read.  I'd like to see a little bit more data on that frankly, since Excel BIO aren't full plastic, so the actual ammount of styrene should be far less than a standard full styrene BB.

Thanks man.  I'd like to use Biovals, but I have yet to really see them being sold in the states.  That still means the next bext choice is Excel BIO.  :?
