I think that would work...but kinda pricey for just two mile range?

Me and Boulger went to Target and picked up a 2 pack with 2 seperate charging stations, 10 mile radios with 22 channels and 14 presets.  They were 50 bucks, but we went halfers and only paid 25 a piece.  They work really well in town and out of town they are excellent.

It was once believed that Chuck Norris actually lost a fight to a
pirate, but that is a lie, created by Chuck Norris himself to lure more pirates to him. Pirates never were very smart.

Make sure you didnt get GMRS radios then.  They DO require a lic.  I doubt anyone will ever bust ya or give you a hard time but if they do catch you the FCC will slap a fine on ya.

They are cheap and work just like FRS radios and everyone sells them and seems to forget to mention the FCC Lic requirement.

If they are not GMRS then ignore everything above as it does not apply.

I use a modified Ham Transcever that can tune in just about anything on UHF or VHF.  But you guys might consider it overkill... ;)

Very good point about the license.  That brings up a question that I have, that may help the group.  Many of the ones on the market now are the dual mode FRS/GMRS...  If a person exclusively uses the FRS channels, does it still require a license?  Isn’t there a rule about it being under 1/2 a watt?

If its a dual use radio and has FRS and GMRS then you can use the FRS all you want.  Also I believe there is a clause where if you have the GMRS radio lic you can use the FRS frequenices at a higher power but I would have to check on that first.
