Its just like any other gas gun, save for the fact that it uses all of its gas in one instant. But even still the weather hot/cold will have an adverse effect on the fps.

At a game in avra valley in january, it was maybe about ~50 degres out, I popped out of a bush and pepered reaver from about 15 ft away. I can recall more of a puff than a boom, and a signficant amount of liquid gas coming out of the barrel (cloud). In turn the bbs didnt hit him as hard.

A couple of months ago at florence, it was maybe 95 degrees out, when I shot mugen with one. My grenades were literally hot to the touch, much as if one were to leave a soda can out in the sun. In this instance it was a loud BOOM, and almost no cloud of gas was visible. He very loudly told me that he was hit when this happened.

The best time that I like to use my grenades is during the hot weather time. But not too hot as in the case of florence, because that day did result in a couple of blown orings. For areas that will be close quaters, I prerfer to use the max limit that each grenade can hold. But in regular skirmishes, I never pack more than about 30 per shell.

Probably the best grenades that I use are the MM 24 rounders. They get good range, and are eaier to maintain than the others I have. Coming in second are the deep fire 180s. These are much better made than the MM, but they do have more of a problem than the MMs with blowing orings. The kings arms (i have 5 of them) work about as well as the deep fire, but are a bitch to maintan, and their build quality is almost satisfactory. The old or first production run of the MM grenades really leaves somthing to be desired. I have one of their earliest 165 rounders, and its a pain to reload, and maintain. It was really a first attempt, but finally they wised up and started making em better about two years ago.

the new mad bulls soud like the real ticket though. Ive heard nothing but good reps from them, but I havent tried them out first hand, so I cant really speak for them. It seems that they have a much better design than the 8 2mm bearings, and have 4 6mm ones. I think that these would be able to hande the heat much more satisfactorily and I look forward to purchasing some in the near future. They are actually american desinged! Yahoo!

Also: MM actually did have somthing like this rifle grenade. It just wasnt as popular, and didnd have as big of a market as the mad bull one.

I have only used the MM and CA 165 rounders.  I messed around with different weights of BBs at different positions in the barrel.  I loaded .12, .20, .23, and .25 in each barrel and observed the distance and penetration.

In my very UNscientific study, I decided that packing the heavier BBs in the rear and lighter BBs toward the front gave the best combination of range (lighter weight BBs) and penetration.  Range was observed visually, and penetration was nothing more than CAG D Boy hiding behind a bush telling me when he got hit.

Some of these new Mad Bull and VFC greandes make me want to get another grenade launcher.

I like the Madbull 48-rounders. They work reliably and are just right in the "shorty" launcher I keep on the Mp5 and UMG.

The Moscart I have is a badly machined POS.

The grenade is handy in CQB. I was shot with a 165 rounder at 15 ft. in the back once, ..wow.

Chip, you were the only instace that I have seen that tried to glue the bbs into the barrels! :)

But thats ok, you were misinformed by the retailer anyway. The mms are hard to maintain and operate for most people  who arent used to taking machinery apart and making nessicary repairs. Its probably my extense of machinery skills that gives me the paitence to keep all of my grenades in working order. The mad bulls in a sense are really a "fool proof" grenade. In which they are much simpler, and require much less maintainece in order to keep them up and ruinnng.

Still haven't had much luck at keeping all the .bb's in the chambers. I'm having some success with a dab of Vaseline or a glue stick on the outer 'bb.

The Moscart has burrs in the machined chamber. This is causing the seal wear, as I can see it.

Ah, if only the same manufacturing strandards applied to these things that a real firearm has.  (I'm not holding my breath).

you do know that you have the 24 rounders do you?

You can always tell, because there is no big o ring at the top of the 24 rouders.  on any other type of grenade that hold more than 24 rounds there will be a large o ring at the top of the shell.

Chip, if you are going to be at the game on the 29th, bring your grenades, and ill bring my tools and supplies. I can garuntee that when Im finished fixing them that you will probably never blow an oring again, or have bbs fall out anymore. :)

When I first read the reply about the tube, all I could think was, "hrmm, blowgun launched rocket-propelled grenade?"  May as well just YELL grenade and throw a handful of bbs if you're going for realism, -which was the reason for the device, yes?

LOL...

This looks alot like the M1 garand rifle grenade. Too bad the Marushin m1 is 8mm, as these 2 items probably wont be compatible....

Does anyone know if that TM Decelerator would work on my ICS PCR-97?

Thanks.

The decelerator works on guns that have a threaded outer barrel for a flashider...  So, YES!  14mm Anti-Clockwise thread, so you may need an adapter- but that's rare.  Most use the standard.  There is one massivly important thing to note with the TM Decelerator though, just so you know:  It ONLY works on SEMI auto!  If you go full auto, the decelerator does little or nothing.  Hope that helps.
